JOB DESCRIPTION

Ringsbergskolan is a F-9 school with about 250 students in central Växjö. The school's pedagogical platform is based on aesthetic learning processes, which have been recognized both locally and nationally. Over the years, the school has received several national and European awards. The activities and teaching at Ringsbergskolan are dynamic and forward-thinking. Interdisciplinary teaching and the use of computers are a natural part of the students' daily lives.

Our students show good results and high satisfaction. We have been recognized multiple times as a world-class school library. We work systematically with student health initiatives and have recently focused on student attendance in school, among other things, by employing student coordinators. This means that class teachers in grades 4-9 have real relief in the part of their role that involves mentoring students.

Participation, engagement, and personal responsibility are key principles in the school's work. Since the school's inception in 2000, teachers have had permanent employment, working 40 hours a week and applying for leave when necessary. The teachers are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and can therefore work both interdisciplinary and subject-specific. Students have had one-to-one computers since grade 4, which is an important tool in the school's pedagogical work. Another success factor is a holistic view of the children's school day, which means that several teachers work part-time in the after-school program.

In our school, the work team is important, and the teams are very independent in designing teaching based on aesthetic learning processes at Ringsbergskolan. All staff at the school also work together, for example, on the school's annual goals or with annual themes from a F-9 perspective.

The position includes teaching mathematics, science, and technology in grades 4-6. As far as possible, we apply co-teaching in mathematics. You will belong to the 4-9 work team and be a class teacher. You will share class teaching responsibilities with a colleague and also receive significant support through the student coordinator who is responsible for mentoring the students.

You will be part of the subject group for your subjects. The subject group has long worked with a coherent approach and good goal fulfillment for the school's students. Your contribution will be important in creative and developmental discussions about teaching and learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach mathematics, science, and technology at the middle school level. We consider it an advantage if you have experience and special educational competence.

We believe you are clear, engaged, and action-oriented. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues and are flexible and responsible.

You can work in a team but also take responsibility for making independent decisions. You are interested in aesthetic learning processes and your own professional development. You have the ability to meet students in need of special support and describe yourself as solution-focused.
