About the school

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Växjö offers students a concept where theory is combined with practical exercises both inside the school and out in workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable training. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our school has 6 different national programs and we also conduct IM programs. Currently, about 160 students attend the school. With us, there are opportunities for students to become apprentices, which means they are out on APL for at least half of their apprenticeship time.

After more than a decade of fantastic work, one of our teachers is retiring this summer. Therefore, we are now looking for a new star to join our team starting in the autumn term of 2025! Do you want to continue building on our success?

Your mission

We are looking for a passionate and innovative FS teacher for our high school, with a particular focus on Young Entrepreneurship (UF). As our new FS teacher, you will play an important role in inspiring and guiding our students through subjects such as business economics, entrepreneurship, and business development. We are looking for someone with a curious and innovative approach who wants to help develop education for future entrepreneurs.

The position is a permanent employment of 60-100%, depending on the subjects you can teach, starting August 12, 2025. You will teach and mentor our students and work together with other colleagues. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to subject-specific tasks, you will also have responsibilities as a mentor, coaching your students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment through sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your profile

We are primarily looking for someone who is a certified vocational teacher in trade, business economics, entrepreneurship, and business development. We place great importance on personal qualities. Even if you lack a teaching certification, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. In such cases, you and the school's principal will jointly develop a plan for how you can become certified in the shortest possible time. The job responsibilities include contact with the business community, as a large part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is an asset.
