Hammarbygruppen offers short-term accommodation for individuals under and over 65 years of age, as well as permanent housing for people with dementia, regardless of age.

At the short-term facility, nursing care supported by the Social Services Act (SoL) is offered to patient groups who need the opportunity to recover after illness or injury, as well as other support measures.

On our permanent sites, we offer housing for people with a dementia diagnosis. Together, we create a safe and stable living environment and appropriate care for all stages of life for those with dementia.

Hammarbyslott consists of 48 apartments operated in a home-like environment with nature close by. The building has preserved its beautiful architecture with high ceilings, combined with modern standards, while retaining large light inlets and generous open spaces for socializing.

Examples of disabilities we work with include Alzheimer's, frontotemporal dementia, vascular dementia, and alcohol-related dementia.

Hammarbyslott also has access to an activity center with various activities from Monday to Friday.

We are looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will be part of a team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists, care staff, and a quality coordinator.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include planning various activities and rehabilitation based on the residents' resources and limitations, as well as leading these activities individually and in groups.

It is important that you have prior experience assessing and mapping activity capacity from a cognitive perspective. You enjoy leading various group activities such as gymnastics and cooking, and have a talent for inspiring groups. There is constant development work in the operation, and we hope you want to be part of it together with us.

The operation aims to maintain and strengthen the functions of the target group through an activating and function-preserving approach.

As an occupational therapist, you have a special responsibility to assess the need for activation capacity and cognitive skills, formulate goals, and create plans for support and training based on the individual's prerequisites. The work also involves collaboration with activity coaches, residents, staff, and relatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is engaged, independent, proactive, responsible, and solution-focused. You have good communication and pedagogical skills with a genuine interest in working with the aging population. Working in a salutogenic manner is a prerequisite. In your role as an occupational therapist, you will find, together with the care recipient, the best ways to use their own abilities in daily life. You support and motivate the individual to want to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities, focusing on a meaningful and dignified day based on their wishes and needs. This often involves making assessments and adapting the daily environment. You trial and prescribe physical and cognitive aids. You supervise care staff in rehabilitative measures, attitudes, and transfer techniques. Other tasks may include performing risk assessments, organizing training, working according to the BPSD model, collaborating with various agencies, and participating in development work to improve care quality.
