About the role
We are currently seeking an archivist for a longer full-time assignment at a government agency in the Stockholm area. The assignment aims to prepare and carry out the work of inventorying, organizing, and documenting a large archive collection in preparation for an upcoming move. You will work together with colleagues in the unit and be responsible for ensuring that the archive material is handled according to current regulations and archival principles. The work is primarily carried out at the agency's premises in Stockholm, but after the turn of the year 2026/2027, the assignment will continue at the agency's premises in Täby. The assignment will last for a 6-month period.
Common tasks include:
- Inventorying archive collections comprising approximately 350 shelf meters in preparation for the move.
- Organizing, cataloging, labeling, and reporting archives in the archive cataloging system.
- Rectifying deficiencies in the archive collection, for example by replacing archive boxes and file covers.
- Investigating and implementing disposal when necessary, as well as assisting with packing and arranging the archive.
Your profile
To succeed in the role, we see that you are meticulous, methodical, and quality-conscious. You have a structured approach to work, good collaboration skills, and enjoy combining practical archive work with administration and documentation. Furthermore, you have a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently towards set goals.
Requirements for the position:
- An academic degree with a focus on archival science of at least 60 higher education credits.
- Experience in cataloging according to the general archive scheme.
- Good knowledge of the Public Access and Secrecy Act.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
Meritorious
Experience in moving archive collections and participating in archive relocation projects is considered meritorious. Experience working within government operations or other public organizations is also positive.
