About the Company

Bollnäs Energi AB is a municipally owned energy company that produces and distributes district heating and generates electricity in Bollnäs Municipality. The company also operates an open fiber network and delivers broadband to households and businesses in the area. The operations include heating plants in Bollnäs, Arbrå, Kilafors, and Rengsjö, with a focus on sustainable and local energy supply. Today, we have approximately 30 employees and we continue to expand our operations.

Your Responsibilities

As a Network Technician with us, you have a central and important role where, together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the operation and development of our city network. You work closely with your colleagues, and together we support our customers with IT-related questions.

The role includes:

• Operation and Maintenance: Ensuring our network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, and access points) functions correctly.
• Troubleshooting: Quickly identifying and resolving complex issues in our city network to minimize downtime.
• Security: Configuring and maintaining our network equipment to protect the network from intrusions and threats.
• Installations & Upgrades: Assisting with the installation and configuration of new network equipment in various parts of the network.
• Documentation: Updating and maintaining all documentation regarding the network's structure and configuration.

Additionally, on-call duties will be part of the role in the long term.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have experience working as a Network Technician or in a role we consider equivalent.

Qualifications for the position:

• Experience working with network equipment and operations in a larger network environment, preferably within telecom or city networks.
• Practical experience in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment.
• Knowledge of Metro Ethernet technology and handling of Access switches as well as CPER customer handling.
• Category B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Merits

• Knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) for routing and traffic management. You need to implement and troubleshoot BGP configurations.
• Experience working with network equipment from several of our suppliers (Nokia SR, Fortinet, Huawei).
