Do you want to help develop eye care for our children in Halland? We are now looking for a specialist in pediatric ophthalmology to join our team in Halmstad!

Your role with us

To thrive with us, you should enjoy working in outpatient clinics and have good teamwork skills. You are responsible and consider good treatment of patients, relatives, and colleagues a matter of course. You are communicative and have good verbal and written skills in Swedish. We value that you are innovative and want to help drive our operations forward.

Your duties also include contact and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as opticians and health centers.

About the workplace

The Eye Clinic's approximately 100 employees offer specialist care of good and high quality at our service points in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad. We have outpatient activities at all three locations and perform day surgery in Kungsbacka and Halmstad. From Halmstad, an on-call line operates for the entire Halland region, where we have availability during evenings and weekends, and we also have access to inpatient beds if needed.

Annually, we perform approximately 23,000 doctor visits, around 30,000 other care visits, and 1,800 surgeries.

The Eye Clinic in Halmstad is located in bright and fine premises at the top of the entrance building. Here, ST doctors and experienced eye specialists with various subspecialties work. Our other staff are well-trained and prepare, among other things, for doctor visits and have their own clinics. Here work eye nurses, operating room nurses, opticians, orthoptists, auxiliary nurses, and medical secretaries.

We offer you a pleasant workplace with varied tasks and learning opportunities alongside colleagues with high competence. We offer regular training, both externally and internally. It is important to us to maintain high patient safety and promote good cohesion and a good, developing work climate.

At the Eye Clinic in Halmstad, we have our pediatric clinic where we receive children of all ages from all over Halland. Here we also care for and examine premature babies and perform ROP screening with Retcam. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, you work closely together with our orthoptists. We also have a good and close collaboration with the pediatric clinics in Region Skåne and the Region of Västra Götaland.

The place of employment is Halmstad, with the possibility of working some time in Varberg and/or Kungsbacka.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in pediatric ophthalmology. Previous experience is meritorious. As a person, you have good collaboration and communication skills, are solution-focused, take initiative, are responsible, and structured in your work approach.
