Laboratory Medical Center Gotland includes Kemlab, the Blood Center, Microbiology, and the Water Lab. At our multidisciplinary hospital laboratory, we place great emphasis on both employee well-being and our quality work.
The island setting requires the resources of a large hospital while simultaneously offering the proximity and sense of community of a smaller hospital. The position is a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension and permanent employment.
Your responsibilities
Do you want to contribute to safe drinking water and a sustainable environment on Gotland? At the Water Laboratory, we perform analyses that are important for residents, visitors, and businesses across the entire island.
The Water Laboratory is a small, specialized team where you work closely with experienced colleagues and have the opportunity to follow the entire analysis chain – from sample reception to final analysis results. As part of a smaller laboratory, you are offered varied work with great opportunities to develop broad competence in both microbiological and chemical water analyses.
With us, you will work with:
- microbiological and chemical analyses of water samples
- automated and manual analysis methods
- sample reception, registration, and administration
- reagent preparation and quality work
- customer contact
Who are you?
You have a university degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, environmental analysis, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
It is meritorious if you have practical experience in food microbiology or analytical chemistry and work within the quality system SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025.
You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. You have a positive attitude towards our customers and the ability to explain and help them with various issues. In addition to good computer skills, you are quality-conscious, meticulous, have good collaboration skills, and can work independently. It is important that you are flexible, enjoy varied tasks, and adapt easily to changing needs. You are also curious and enjoy learning new things.
A background check via an extract from the criminal record will be conducted prior to the hiring decision.
