Are you driven by developing people, building strong teams, and working clinically at the same time? AniCura Kalmarsund Animal Hospital is now looking for a Veterinary Manager who wants to influence the future of veterinary care and shape an entirely new animal hospital with occupancy in spring 2027.

We are looking for you with clinical experience and a genuine interest in leadership and development. Perhaps you are a manager today – or ready to take your first step into leadership. We prefer that you are a licensed veterinarian, but other backgrounds within veterinary care may also be relevant for the right person.

Leadership, clinical work, and a journey into the future – in one role

With us, you get the best of both worlds: an inspiring leadership role where you coach and develop veterinarians – while you work clinically and maintain closeness to both patients and the team. The role is divided between approximately 60% leadership and business development and approximately 40% clinical work.

We are looking for you who want more than to "just" lead. You who want to create engagement, build culture, and help develop a business where quality, collaboration, and job satisfaction go hand in hand.

And the most exciting part? Next year, we move into a completely new animal hospital – built for the future of veterinary care. Here, you have the opportunity to influence working methods, culture, and work environment from the ground up.

AniCura Kalmarsund

AniCura Kalmarsund Animal Hospital forms AniCura Kalmarsund together with Läckeby Animal Clinic, Borgholm Animal Clinic, Högsby Animal Clinic, and Blekinge Animal Clinic. Together, we create a strong region with broad competence and great opportunities for development and collaboration.

At AniCura Kalmarsund Animal Hospital, approximately 90 engaged colleagues work, including approx. 22 veterinarians, within areas such as: orthopedics, neurology, surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, cardiology, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, and reproduction.

We offer advanced diagnostics with both CT and MRI, have an inpatient ward staffed around the clock, and an emergency clinic open every day between 08:00–22:00.

Your Role

As Veterinary Manager, you become a key person in the operations, manager for the veterinarians at the animal hospital, and sit on the management group for all of AniCura Kalmarsund. The role is both strategic and operational – you work close to the operations, close to the team, and close to the decisions.

You will among other things:

  • lead, coach, and develop the veterinary team
  • create engagement, involvement, and a strong team spirit
  • drive quality and improvement work
  • work with business planning and resource allocation
  • combine leadership with approx. 40% clinical work
  • be involved in the journey towards our new animal hospital

Who are you?

We prefer that you are a licensed veterinarian with good clinical experience and a genuine interest in people, development, and leadership. If you have another background within veterinary care, but with solid experience and a strong commitment to leadership and business development, it may also be the right fit for the role.

Perhaps you already have experience leading teams and operations – or perhaps you are today the natural source of security in the group and feel it is time to take the next step in your career.

To thrive with us, we believe you:

  • enjoy coaching, supporting, and developing others
  • like to create structure and drive development forward
  • communicate clearly and build trust naturally
  • are motivated by combining operational responsibility with presence in clinical work
  • thrive in a daily life where collaboration, pace, and variation are a natural part of the work

Above all, we believe you are a person who wants to help create a workplace where both people and the business have the opportunity to develop long-term.

What we offer you

  • a meaningful leadership role with great influence
  • the opportunity to combine clinical work with strategic responsibility
  • an engaged and competent team that supports each other
  • great opportunities for competence development
  • focus on sustainable leadership and a good work environment
  • the chance to be involved from the start in a completely new animal hospital

Does this sound like your next challenge?

We warmly welcome your application – selection and interviews are conducted continuously, and start date is by agreement.

If you have questions about the position or the recruitment process, you are warmly welcome to contact:
