Department M69 – Psychiatric Intensive Care
Department M69 is a psychiatric ward focusing on the treatment of patients with severe and acute psychiatric symptoms. Psychiatric intensive care involves targeted management of agitation, severe anxiety, arousal, and psychotic symptoms through adapted interaction, activities, and medication treatment.
The department has 16 care beds, divided into 6 PIVA (Psychiatric Intensive Care) beds and 10 discharge beds. We have close collaboration with the clinic's ECT unit. To ensure smooth operations, we require active collaboration across team boundaries, lifting each other up, and encouraging one another!
Job Responsibilities
- Planned and emergency medication management.
- Continuous psychiatric assessments.
- Supportive and problem-solving conversations with patients.
- Medico-technical tasks and specific nursing care.
- Handover reports to the next shift and information transfer to other care units and stakeholders.
- Leadership in nursing care, e.g., following up that planned care has been carried out or prioritizing tasks.
- Documentation of performed work.
You will not work as a solo nurse during day/evening shifts; there will always be at least 2 nurses on each shift.
Work schedule: 2 out of 5 weekends, 38 hours/week.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse.
You have a patient-centered understanding of patient needs and can simultaneously see how each work task connects to the outcome.
