About the Department

The Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation (GNR) unit is part of the Southern Primary Healthcare Area. GNR has two wards: one focused on rehabilitation (26A) and one for stroke/neurology (26B). Ward 26B treats patients with neurological diseases, including stroke. The clinic employs 5 neurologists, 4 stroke-focused specialist physicians, and 7 resident physicians (ST-doctors) in neurology. The neurology outpatient clinic is broad and well-established, offering extensive diagnostic and treatment opportunities. We also have a neurology consultation function linked to the clinic.

We are now looking for a Consultant/Specialist Physician in Neurology to join our team at the outpatient clinic. Here, you will see a wide range of patients within outpatient neurology and also work as a consultant to other clinics and departments within the hospital. You will collaborate closely with our specialized outpatient nurses. We offer opportunities for clinical development and promote a learning and developmental environment. The position is a permanent employment with a working time between 50% and 100%. Both the employment percentage and start date are negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Work primarily at the neurology outpatient clinic with outpatient neurology
• Share consultation duties during office hours with the other neurologists
• Ward work may occur, primarily on ward 26B
• Participate in the supervision of resident physicians (ST-doctors) and medical students

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

For Consultant and Specialist Physicians:

• Is a specialist physician in neurology
• Has good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

For Consultant Physicians:

• Can work independently as an on-call physician in neurology, or alternatively have overarching competence within their subspecialty with the ability to take overall responsibility
• Has at least 3 years of full-time clinical service after obtaining specialist competence

It is an advantage if you

For Consultant and Specialist Physicians:

• Have work experience from ward work, outpatient clinics, and on-call competence in neurology
• Have experience working in the medical record system Cosmic

For Consultant Physicians:

• Have a defined area of medical responsibility and/or knowledge
• Have teaching and/or supervisory experience
• Have leadership and administrative experience/training
• Have a PhD, preferably with active research in a relevant field
• Have other advantageous research merits
