Responsibilities

As a cook with us, you are responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals according to given recipes and quality requirements. In Strömbacka's production kitchen, all cooking is done hot, and rotation between different tasks is applied. The duties also include work in the student restaurant, dishwashing, and cleaning.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have a restaurant education at the upper secondary level or equivalent experience deemed suitable by the employer. Sufficient knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling and communication in a large kitchen. The work requires good physical fitness.

Meritorious Skills

We are looking for someone with experience in cooking from scratch in both cold and hot kitchens. You have good knowledge of self-control, hygiene routines, and cleaning, and are accustomed to working according to these requirements. Furthermore, you have experience with task rotation in a kitchen environment and thrive with varied tasks.

You are communicative, flexible, and have good teamwork skills, contributing to a positive work climate. You also have experience handling raw materials and basic knowledge of special diets.

You are passionate about cooking with a focus on quality "cooking from scratch" and customer satisfaction. You are flexible, service-oriented, and able to adapt to the needs of the business. You work confidently both independently and in a team, with a holistic view of the task.

About the position

Fixed-term employment from 2026-08-31 to 2027-08-31 with the possibility of extension.

Holiday service with working hours Monday-Sunday, working approximately 2 out of 5 weekends.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Start date by agreement.

Selection is ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Probationary employment may apply.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police record) is required for employment in meal services.

Due to the holiday period, the ability to answer questions about the position is limited. Questions can be answered during week 32.

About Meal Services

We face many exciting challenges and are looking for you who take initiative, enjoy collaborating, and are happy to share your knowledge. Meal Services is responsible for the production and serving of public meals and works based on dietary policy guidelines with clear goals. Our mission is to create health-promoting and nutritious meals – food that is quality-assured, delicious, and adapted for children, young people, and the elderly.

We want to contribute to good eating habits and sustainable development, with a special focus on reducing food waste. Meal Services is part of the Property and Service Administration, which is also responsible for maintaining municipal buildings and ensuring our premises are clean and pleasant.

Strömbacka production kitchen cooks approximately 2000 portions per day for the high school and care/residential facilities, of which approximately 1400 portions are served in our student restaurant. Here, you will become part of a wonderful team of 20 people.
