About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and prisoner transport.
The position is located within the Civil Preparedness Unit, which belongs to the Security Department. We are in an exciting development phase where the unit is being formed and built up. The unit's main task is to lead, support, and coordinate the authority's overall preparedness work. It consists of 31 employees and is divided into two sections. The Preparedness Measures Section has the main task of supporting the authority's implementation of preparedness measures at all levels, carrying out and coordinating the authority's preparatory planning, and developing and managing the authority's business continuity management.
Job Description
As an expert within the Civil Preparedness Unit, you will have the opportunity to make a real societal contribution and strengthen our ability to meet future security challenges. You will belong to the Preparedness Measures Section, where your tasks primarily consist of providing support to local and regional operations regarding preparedness issues and the implementation of measures. You coordinate, ensure quality, and follow up on the region's preparedness work. The duties include supporting operations in business continuity management, developing preparedness plans, exercising various capabilities to reduce vulnerability and increase the ability to handle peacetime crises and heightened alert.
The work consists largely of operational support to the operations, which is why you are expected to be able to lead and drive processes and networks, but also participate in and support others' assignments. Your assignment may also include some national development and management tasks. You produce reports and background materials, and you are expected to contribute your knowledge to develop the preparedness work. You participate in collaboration forums within the expert area both internally and externally. Your role includes promoting good collaboration in the forums you participate in and acting as a support for both the Regional Director and the Section Manager in the implementation and follow-up of activities and assignments related to the preparedness area.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who works purposefully and organized, and who has an easy time creating clarity and conveying messages in a simple and clear way to all parties. You build trusting relationships, are sensitive, and work well with other people. At the same time, you have the ability to adapt yourself and your perspective to new situations and changing requirements, and take responsibility for driving your work forward independently.
For us, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute with your attitude to ensure that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic education/degree of at least 120 credits corresponding to two years of higher education/university in areas that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant, or other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service finds relevant
