We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to help shape future solutions in the aviation sector. With us, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects spanning the entire lifecycle of military aircraft – from new construction to modification and maintenance.
About the role
In the role of Design Engineer with us, you work with the entire chain from when orders come in until the Airworthiness Documentation (LVG) has been produced. You prepare design documentation for installations in aircraft, often this is done in collaboration with colleagues where a lead designer for the specific assignment is appointed. You define the work based on the customer's order, carry out planning and design so that the documentation for installation can be prepared for purchase or in-house manufacturing, and meet the assignment's requirements with the right quality at the best cost.
In the role of Design Engineer, you are also responsible for following up on the design assignment regarding planning, quality, and costs. Both drawing review or design review of another designer's documentation and preparation of verification reports regarding compliance with requirements specifications and airworthiness requirements occur. In the role, you also act as design support for external and internal questions. You often solve tasks in close collaboration with production.
The position is located in Linköping, travel both within Sweden and internationally may occur.
About you
We are looking for you who have a university education in mechanics or equivalent competence acquired through experience. You have a few years of practical experience in mechanical design and a basic understanding of strength analysis. Furthermore, you have documented knowledge in engineering drawing and experience working with CAD tools, such as SolidWorks or similar. You find it easy to understand and produce technical publications. Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing as well as a B-driver's license are also requirements.
We would like you to also have a few years of experience in mechanical design for aircraft according to EASA/SE-EMAR Part 21 as well as knowledge of design rules for aircraft structures.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences and are looking for you who are self-motivated and take responsibility for your assignments from start to finish. You are structured, which enables you to handle both details and the whole in complex projects. Your initiative helps you drive the work forward and find solutions when challenges arise. You have good collaboration skills and create constructive collaboration with colleagues and production. In addition, you are clear in your communication, which is important when you prepare technical documentation and reports in Swedish and English.
