About the job

Development in the road vehicle sector is moving fast. Therefore, it is important that our regulations are up-to-date and functional, while we also need to stay ahead when it comes to future vehicle regulation – both in the short and long term.

We are now looking for an investigator to work with and lead assignments within national regulatory development. This often involves updating or creating new regulations, but can also involve assisting the government in various matters. The section works primarily with national regulatory development, as well as some international regulation, investigations, and analyses within the road vehicle sector. The work can therefore vary between general investigative assignments and deeper investigations, such as government assignments.

As an investigator, your main area of responsibility is the development of vehicle technical regulations. You will respond to consultations and statements with both internal and external focus. You will work both individually and together with colleagues, as well as have good dialogue with other authorities, the vehicle industry, and other stakeholders who depend on or are affected by the regulations we develop.

In addition to occasionally delving deeper into certain regulatory frameworks, we see that in the long term you will need to be able to lead investigations and assignments. This means lifting your gaze, seeing the big picture, and thinking long-term. To achieve results, you need the ability to initiate and lead collaborations, as well as have good dialogue with numerous specialists and functions within our subject areas. You will

• conduct reviews of regulations within the vehicle technical area
• be involved in investigations when drafting regulations or other assignments
• collaborate with external actors, such as other authorities, industry, and trade organizations
• respond to consultations from the Government and other authorities
• assist other operations with your knowledge and experience

You must have

• a relevant academic degree in vehicle technology or other equivalent knowledge/experience that we assess as equivalent
• experience of working with vehicle regulations
• experience of investigative work
• good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you also have

• experience of regulatory development at the national level (laws and ordinances)
• experience of regulatory development at the international level (EU and UN/UNECE)
• experience of regulations within the vehicle sector
• current experience of corresponding tasks in a government agency

More information

The employment is permanent with placement in Borlänge, Stockholm, or Gothenburg. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security investigation with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our security-class tasks, Swedish citizenship is required.
