Project Manager for Youth Influence at Ockelbo Public Library

In Ockelbo Municipality, approximately 500 employees work together to create a good everyday life for the municipality's residents. RESPONSIBILITIES

During the autumn of 2026, Ockelbo Public Library will work on developing the library's youth activities and the library room in collaboration with a reference group to create a more relevant, accessible, and inspiring place for young people. The work should promote reading, increase young people's influence, and contribute to the library becoming a clearer arena for democracy, culture, and community. For this project, we are now looking for an engaged project manager.

As project manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing the Youth Influence Ockelbo project at the public library. The assignment includes, among other things:

  • planning and conducting workshops, conversations, and activities with young people
  • capturing and translating young people's ideas and wishes into practice
  • contributing to the development of the library's youth environment, media selection, and activities
  • collaborating with schools, leisure activities, associations, and other actors
  • documenting, following up, and evaluating the project
  • contributing to the development of working methods that can continue after the project ends.

The work is both independent and in collaboration with others. Work during late afternoons or evenings may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a great interest in young people, culture, reading promotion, and participation.

We see that you, as an applicant, have an ongoing or completed post-secondary education in library and information science or other education that the employer deems relevant.

It is meritorious if you have experience of:

  • working with young people
  • planning and conducting activities or projects
  • leading workshops, conversations, or other forms of dialogue
  • working with reading promotion or cultural activities
  • collaborating with different operations and organizations.

To succeed in the assignment, you need to be proactive, receptive, and structured. You find it easy to connect with young people, translate ideas into practice, and collaborate with others. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

The position is 20% of a full-time role.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3–6 months, Start date: 2026-08-18, End date: 2026-12-18.

For the interview, you need to bring a valid passport or national ID card. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA, you must also be able to prove your right to work in Sweden by showing a valid residence and work permit. We do this to ensure your identity and that you have the right to work in Sweden.

According to the municipality's decision on register control, anyone offered employment must present an extract from the criminal record register before an employment contract can be signed. For certain positions, a security check may be conducted as part of the recruitment process. Probationary employment may be applied.
