About the Role

Do you want to work on issues that truly make a difference in society? At Borlänge Energi, you will have an important role in the development of future sustainable water and wastewater (VA) systems, contributing every day to a functioning and growing society.

We are now looking for a Water and Wastewater Strategist (VA-Strateg) who wants to help develop our municipal water services. In this role, you will combine strategic work with concrete impact, and your analyses and decisions will become a vital part of Borlänge's future development.

As a VA-Strategist, you are responsible for renewal planning and actively work on issues related to supplementary water supply. You also drive the work with hydraulic models for water and wastewater networks and coordinate capacity investigations related to the network's development and expansion.

You work closely with the department's VA Project Manager and the GIS system administrator, and you participate in the municipality's planning processes, including work with comprehensive plans, water service plans, and investigations regarding new business areas. The role also involves responsibility for planning cases, consultations, and contact with authorities, where you become an important part of integrating VA issues into urban planning.

As a VA-Strategist, you will also drive your own investigations and preliminary studies related to the expansion and renewal of the VA system. With a long-term and strategic perspective, you analyze how existing systems need to be developed to meet future demands, real estate development, and sustainability goals. At the same time, you keep up-to-date with technology, legislation, and developments within the VA industry to contribute to Borlänge Energi staying at the forefront of strategic VA planning.

Who Are You?

We believe you have a university degree in urban planning, civil engineering (roads and water) or other relevant education, as well as at least a couple of years of experience in VA planning or strategic work in the field. You have a good understanding of how VA systems interact with urban planning and feel comfortable in a role with many interfaces. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the laws and regulations governing municipal VA planning.

As a person, you are analytical, curious, and driven. You enjoy taking responsibility, driving issues forward, and collaborating with others to achieve the best possible results. You have the ability to see both details and the big picture and are motivated by creating sustainable solutions that work over time.
