The Department of Technology and Services is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of streets, urban networks, public spaces, land, forests, municipal sports and leisure facilities, municipal buildings, food supply within municipal operations, the municipal vehicle fleet, and the recruitment of substitutes for municipal operations. The Department of Technology and Services is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing the municipality's investment projects within buildings, facilities, and technical infrastructure. The assignment includes ensuring that investments are carried out in a cost-effective, sustainable, and business-adapted manner, and that they contribute to the municipality's long-term development.

You are responsible for investment projects in their feasibility, planning, and design phases. The project manager also acts as a cohesive link within and between the departments' line assignments in projects. The role represents the municipality as the client and ensures that projects are carried out within agreed frameworks regarding economy, time, quality, working environment, sustainability, and business benefit.

The Design Manager coordinates various functions within the municipality regarding the planning and implementation stages of the investment process. In the coming years, the municipality faces significant investment needs for sports facilities and operational buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and carry out planning, coordination, and design of feasibility studies and investigations.
• Coordinate and follow up on the municipality's responsible functions in projects.
• Coordinate technical solutions, investigations, and governing documents for current investments and projects.
• Coordinate the process from investigation to design and implementation.
• Convene and be responsible for reporting to the project steering group.
• Update and report project status and project completion to the project owner and client.
• Identify, calculate, and present investment needs based on both proactive and current requirements.
• Convene and lead work in project groups.
• Be responsible for documentation and filing of project materials.
• Coordinate approved internal and external development projects.
• In collaboration with other units, develop routines for the project process.
• Prepare service reports and present cases to the municipality's elected officials.

Qualifications

For the position, we require:

• Post-secondary education relevant to the position.
• Project management training.
• Ability to write professionally and strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Office package.
• Class B driver's license.
• Leadership skills.
• Personal attributes: Resilient, decisive, cooperative, and structured.
• Ability to build trust and good relationships, both internally and externally.
• Ability to take initiative for development.
• Ability to take responsibility for the business as well as your own and others' working conditions.
• Knowledge of project management and working in a project model.
• Knowledge of the Local Government Act, Public Access and Secrecy Act.
• Design knowledge within construction, electrical, plumbing/HVAC, and civil engineering.

Other

A valid Class B driver's license is required.
