Description

Position as Coordinator for "School as an Arena" at Lundby School. This is a fixed-term position for 6 months with the possibility of extension. "School as an Arena" aims to create good starting conditions and upbringing environments for children and young people, and is part of Gothenburg City's joint effort to create an equitable city. The work promotes safe meeting places where children, adults, and other actors from the public sector, business, and non-profit sector collaborate to strengthen every child's right to good upbringing conditions. The schools serve as a hub in the area, where residents can participate in various free activities before or after school hours. The goal is to level the playing field for children's upbringing by ensuring more children and young people complete their studies, participate in culture and leisure activities, feel safe in their school and neighborhood, and have important adults who support their development.

Responsibilities

As a coordinator, your main tasks will be to coordinate collaboration and drive initiatives and activities within the "School as an Arena" framework. You will develop and initiate cooperation with associations and other actors.

You will also handle administrative tasks such as follow-up, reporting, and statistics. The main duties involve initiating, supporting, and introducing actors to "School as an Arena". You will participate in and develop area-based work, such as parent dialogues, and other contexts related to safety work in the area. In your role, you will contribute to and participate in networks regarding "School as an Arena" at both the Hisingen level and the city level.

Qualifications

You should have a university degree in social work, public health science, culture, behavioral or social sciences, or another university degree that the employer deems equivalent. It is meritorious if you have training in process facilitation or participatory methods.

You have broad experience in community-oriented social work, area-based work, work within civil society, and/or school work with children and young people. You have experience independently leading processes in collaboration between different actors, both public and in civil society. You work in a participatory manner, value different perspectives and diverse engagement, and have a genuine interest in listening to and involving children. It is meritorious if you have experience collaborating with associations, working in schools, and meeting people from different cultures. It is also meritorious if you speak multiple languages, such as Turkish, Arabic, or Somali, or have experience working in Biskopsgården.

We are looking for someone who thrives in collaboration with others and has the ability to build good relationships and networks with various actors. You enjoy working with area-based development and are comfortable in social interactions, both informal and formal. By showing interest in others, you find opportunities for relevant collaborations. The position requires a high degree of self-leadership.

We believe you are flexible, able to seize opportunities, reprioritize, and see possibilities outside the plan. You are skilled at building relationships with children and adults from civil society as well as other professionals. We see that you can work independently and collaborate with others, are structured in your work, and can turn ideas into plans and follow them up.
