About the role

As an employee here, you represent Hornbach and serve as a role model in terms of engagement, drive, and customer service. We are now looking for a store sales assistant for our decoration department, with a primary focus on lighting.

Your main responsibilities will consist of sales and advising customers. Thanks to your product knowledge and sales skills, you ensure that customers can complete their projects successfully.

Key responsibilities

  • Active sales of the product range within decoration, specifically lighting and electrical products.
  • Opportunities to be inspired, learn from colleagues, and exchange solid knowledge and experience within the product area.
  • Responsibility for incoming goods and display, as well as setup and restructuring of the department.
  • Analyze the department's product presentation.
  • Assist on other departments when needed.

Your profile

  • High school education or equivalent, along with experience in retail.
  • Relevant professional experience or education in the field of lighting and electrical.
  • Previous knowledge of electrical and lighting products is a requirement.
  • Passion for providing our customers with the best possible service.
  • Ability to realize customers' projects through professional advice on our wide product range.
  • Resilient under pressure, flexible, and solution-oriented.
  • Good physical condition, as some tasks require lifting heavier items.
  • Meritorious if you have a forklift license (A1-A4 & B1-B4).

Working hours/Duration: Permanent. Part-time, 30 hours/week. Working hours are weekdays and every other weekend.

Salary: According to collective agreement.

Start date: July 27, 2026.
