We are looking for an experienced personal assistant for our son. He is an energetic young man with extensive non-verbal autism and a great need for safety, structure, and an adult who truly wants to understand him.

He has a heart of gold. He is curious, cheerful, and full of energy. At the same time, his autism presents significant challenges in daily life. When demands become too high or communication is insufficient, situations with strong emotional expressions and challenging behaviors may arise.

Therefore, we are looking for you who can stay calm, keep your composure, and try to understand what lies behind. Someone who can distract, motivate, create safety, and find new paths when needed.

Your Role

As a personal assistant, you will accompany our son in his daily life – at home and in various environments. Your most important task is to create safety, predictability, and opportunities for development.

The work involves, among other things:

• supporting communication and interaction
• creating routines and structure
• participating in activities, play, and movement
• supporting recovery and rest
• preventing and managing challenging situations through a low-affective and respectful approach

Above all, the work is about the relationship – getting to know our son, understanding his signals, and becoming a safe person in his daily life.

Who are you?

This is a role that requires experience. You need to have previously worked with people with autism or other extensive disabilities and have a secure foundation in your approach.

We are looking for you who:

• have experience with autism or other extensive disabilities
• have experience with low-affective approaches
• can maintain calm in difficult situations
• see behavior as communication and want to find causes and solutions
• are secure, stable, patient, and resilient
• are creative and can find new ways to create interaction
• have good physical fitness and enjoy being active
• fluent in Swedish

Merits include experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and working with challenging behaviors.

Working Hours and Employment Degree

The position starts as extra/on-call as needed with the possibility of fixed shifts in the future.

The working hours are initially primarily:

• holidays and weekends during the day
• some weekday evenings, distributed over different days of the week

You will work closely with us as parents in a warm and supportive environment.

SALARY
