Who are we?
Smedstorp Housing and Short-term Care for Children and Young People offers a complement to the parental home. The work is carried out in a home-like environment where we strive to provide children and young people with good living conditions based on their individual prerequisites. We are now looking for several support assistants. Does that sound interesting?

Job Responsibilities
The role of a support assistant involves working with and interacting with children and young people in the housing environment. We work with clear pedagogy according to VISA (Visually Individually Structured Approach). You provide good care and supervision, which means you need to adapt your interaction to each unique situation. There is also extensive care work involved.
Outbursts of aggressive behavior may occur among our users. To minimize threat and violence situations, we work from a low-affective interaction approach, which means you need to be able to quickly adapt to challenging behaviors and act actively for preventive purposes. It is important that the children and young people feel safe and trust.
We perform all household tasks that occur in a home, such as cleaning, laundry, and cooking. We spend a lot of time in various outdoor environments, in the forest, on playgrounds, and on our farm, so it is important that you enjoy being active.
The job includes planning and developing the work independently and together with the work group. Together with the work group, you will draw up and follow up action plans, implementation plans, and routines. You are also expected to document in the organization's documentation system.

We are looking for employees for both our short-term care housing and housing for children and young people.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are genuinely interested in other people, are solution-focused, and want to make a difference. You are sensitive, good at communicating, and can treat your surroundings in a warm way. Furthermore, you are secure in yourself, have great patience, and are creative. It is important to be able to work based on clear and agreed routines, as well as good teamwork skills as we work both independently and in teams.
We would appreciate if you have experience within the autism spectrum area and the ability to act low-affectively in situations that arise in daily work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Education: You need to have one of the following educations; care and nursing college, child and youth program, leisure pedagogue, preschool teacher, or behavioral scientific education, or other education that the employer considers suitable for the assignment. You also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.
Other: Driver's license B and the ability to drive a car are desirable. Being able to cycle and swim is a requirement. Extract from the police register is required to work with us.
