About the position

As a counselor (social worker) with us, you support, motivate, and treat young people in their daily lives. The foundation is environmental therapeutic treatment work where all employees have the same mission and it is performed as a team effort. These positions also include, in combination with this, having the role of contact person/family worker or another specific role, where you have additional responsibility together with colleagues.

Examples of tasks:

• therapeutic tasks, such as individual conversations and parent meetings
• work close to the operations and participate in daily chores
• maintain common structures together with other staff
• offer credible relationships to the young people and their families to provide opportunities for development
• collaborate with other actors such as schools, social services, psychiatry
• work and document in the operational systems available

About the workplace

OT-gruppen is an HVB (Home for Care or Residence) home for young people aged 13–18 who are in need of social support and psychological treatment. We have 13 places in the environmental therapy, of which 9 are HVB places and 6 places in structured open care. The treatment is organized based on mentalization-based environmental therapy and is based on a psychodynamic basic view. The environmental therapy is based on a process-oriented and structured work model.

OT-gruppen is one of three HVB homes for young people within the Social Administration's Individual and Family Care, Home for Care or Residence. We are located in fine premises in Karlslund, and you are welcomed by a secure and experienced work group consisting of counselors and treatment assistants.

Qualifications

In this role, it is required that you are a stable person who can distinguish between the personal and the professional and take responsibility for your tasks. You have the ability to handle arising situations with calm and adapt easily to changed circumstances. We also see that you work well together with other people and are responsive in contact with both colleagues and young people.

Since the position involves holding many conversations with young people, we consider it a given that you have good communicative skills, meaning you can express yourself clearly in speech and writing and document what the operations require.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• degree in social work or other equivalent education of at least 210 ECTS credits
• knowledge of psychodynamic theory
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission

Merits:

• documented experience of treatment work with children/young people and their families
• experience of mentalization-based environmental therapy
• experience of treatment work in HVB
