About the Position
There is a lot happening within the water and wastewater sector, and the industry is undergoing rapid development, particularly regarding climate issues, which means we are facing many new and exciting challenges. The position is located within the Planning Unit for Water and Wastewater, which currently consists of 14 positions. You will be part of a group working on planning and investigation matters for the network, where 10 Water and Wastewater Engineers currently work. We have strong cohesion in the group where we leverage each other's competencies. The work in the group is broad, covering all aspects, but there is also the opportunity to specialize in an area where you have more experience or interest. The role also involves extensive internal contact within the municipality as well as with external actors.
This specific position is a fixed-term appointment, and you will primarily work with modeling and calculations of the network as well as assignments within the safety area.
Examples of duties:
- Work with various types of investigations and projects, both individually and in teams. This may involve analysis, documentation, field work, and developing action proposals.
- Participate in the planning of reinvestments in the existing network as well as in the overall planning of future water and wastewater expansion.
- Work with our models (V, S, and D) and their calculations/runs.
- Participate in the processing of building permits, detailed planning, and excavation referrals.
- Be responsible for the planning, requirement setting, and follow-up of infrastructure projects, including economy and quality.
- Act as a client towards the Project Unit within the administration and participate in certain meetings related to projects, such as kick-off meetings.
- Participate in the work of creating strategic documents, reports, routines, etc.
About the Workplace
We who work here are located in Citypassagen, an environment with activity-based working style right next to the railway station. You have good opportunities for remote work.
In the Water and Wastewater operation, you will have approximately 120 colleagues in many different roles with a variety of tasks. Together, we ensure that residents of Örebro get clean drinking water from the tap, that wastewater is managed and treated, that the network is maintained and expanded, and that water supply is developed for the future, for example through our newly built water reservoir, Lyra.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role of Water and Wastewater Engineer, you need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with individuals, companies, and authorities to find the best solutions. You are a problem solver who, with analytical thinking and a holistic view, can identify challenges and develop effective solutions. Taking initiative comes naturally to you, and you drive work forward by being proactive and seeing opportunities for improvement. You are a structured person who can plan and prioritize your work to ensure that projects and tasks are carried out in an efficient and high-quality manner. Since communication is a central part of the role, it is important that you can express yourself clearly and professionally in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and that you can adapt your message to different target groups.

Requirements:
- A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Road and Water Construction/Urban Planning) or another relevant direction, with experience assessed as equivalent within the water and wastewater sector.
- Or a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering/Urban Planning and several years of relevant experience within the water and wastewater sector.
- Good knowledge and experience with the Mike system and model running.
- Experience from planning and investigation work within the water and wastewater sector.
- The work requires that you have a driver's license with category B.
Merits:
- Good knowledge regarding the Public Water and Wastewater Services Act and its practice.
