Stockholm – our capital city full of millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

The Social Services Administration in Stockholm Municipality has an overarching and coordinating role for the individual and family care within social services, as well as for the disability sector. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service with a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures is offered to the city's residents, and this range changes based on the needs of Stockholmers and the requests of the district administrations. The work is often carried out in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and business. The Social Services Administration is also responsible for the city's catering and tobacco licenses and conducts supervision.

Welcome to us

Within the Social Services Administration, there is the operation Competence Area Disability and Social Psychiatry, which consists of four units. We are now looking for employees for the unit Central Placement. On behalf of the district administrations, we work to ensure equal placements and agreements in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU), and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled Persons (LSS). Today, we are eight people in the group, distributed as case workers, administrator, coordinator, and unit manager.

The unit is both new and a city-wide function. We welcome you to a dynamic work environment where you will help start up a new operation and thereby contribute to establishing new ways of working together with the team and many colleagues in the city. The new operation supports large parts of Stockholm Municipality's social services.

"It is not often you get the chance to be part of creating a new operation that really makes a difference, for people, for social services, and for the whole city." – Chatarina Rehnström, Unit Manager.

We offer you

You are offered meaningful and varied work where your efforts make a real difference in people's lives. You will join a dynamic workplace with good opportunities for both personal and professional development. Our office is located in the pleasant Farsta Center, close to the subway, restaurants, and shopping, making it easy to get here. You are offered a fitness allowance, flexible working hours, as well as winter and summer working hours, and the possibility of holiday exchange. Please read more about our benefits here.

Your role

As a placement case worker, you will identify and assess suitable internal and external housing placements for children, young people, and adults who need to be placed by the district administrations. This is done in collaboration with our district administrations, the city's own residential care for youth (HVB) and emergency home operations, as well as with external providers. It may involve travel both in the local area and to other parts of Sweden in order to ensure the quality of placements through personal contact.

You ensure that the process for the entire placement is efficient and cohesive, including negotiation and contract writing with providers in close collaboration with our contract case workers.

You will belong to the Children and Young People team in the newly launched city-wide placement function.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in social work or other relevant higher education, or alternatively equivalent competence acquired through several years of relevant working life experience.
  • Experience of authority exercise within children and young people in individual and family care.
  • Experience and understanding of institutional, emergency home, and foster home care.
  • Experience of complex placement needs requiring individualized solutions.
  • Experience of placements outside framework agreements or work with external care providers.
  • Experience of working with placed children and young people in community care.

The following would be meritorious:

  • Experience from the provider/executor side within current areas, such as foster homes, LSS, and HVB.
  • Experience of coordination and development work in teams.
  • Knowledge of Stockholm Municipality's organization, compensation systems, and procurement processes.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are structured to plan and organize your time efficiently and are proactive in turning ideas and planning into action. You enjoy working both independently and in teams. Furthermore, you are clear in both your oral and written communication. You are relationship-building and enjoy building good collaborations both internally and externally. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, your commitment, and your motivation for the position.

Other

We recruit without a cover letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences that are important for the role.
