Do you want to work with complex and socially vital operations? Do you want to contribute to Sweden's crisis preparedness and civil defense by creating legally sustainable solutions in strategically important issues?
The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is now looking for a lawyer with several years of experience in qualified contracts, preferably within the preparedness sector.
Here, you will work at the center of events – where law, crisis preparedness, and civil defense meet.
About the role
We are looking to strengthen our team with a skilled and ambitious lawyer experienced in drafting contracts within an administrative law context.
The role involves working on strategic and complex issues related to crisis preparedness and civil defense, with a primary focus on supply security. You will work both operationally and strategically, responsible for individual legal issues as well as the development of relevant legal areas.
Typical tasks include:
- drafting, negotiating, and revising, for example, F-contracts and other complex agreements with Swedish and international partners
- providing legal support in matters concerning society's crisis preparedness and civil defense, primarily linked to supply security
- collaborating with the agency's procurement unit when procurement and commercial agreements are relevant
- supporting the agency in negotiations with external parties
- contributing to the strategic development of legal areas within crisis preparedness and civil defense, particularly regarding supply security
- conducting horizon scanning and identifying the need for legal measures in line with new assignments and a changing threat landscape
The work is multidisciplinary, and several different legal fields are often involved in the same assignment.
The role also involves close collaboration with the operations within the agency's department for crisis preparedness and civil defense and is part of the National Board of Health and Welfare's long-term work to develop legal support in this area.
About you
To succeed in this role, you must be analytical, solution-oriented, and have a strong ability to translate legal theory into practical, implementable solutions.
You have high integrity, excellent teamwork skills, and thrive in complex environments with a fast pace and significant societal impact.
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in Law (Jur. Cand. or equivalent)
- several years of experience in qualified legal work
- excellent knowledge of contract law
- a good understanding of public procurement
- experience independently drafting and negotiating qualified contracts with external parties in Swedish and English
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English
The following qualifications are particularly meritorious:
- experience from a law firm or agency in complex contract negotiations
- experience with state aid law issues
- experience with issues related to crisis preparedness and civil defense, including supply security
- knowledge of and experience with the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act and the Security Protection Act
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
