Do you want to become part of our labor market unit?

We are currently looking for an additional counselor to join our labor market unit, where we work together to support individuals towards self-sufficiency. There is a lot happening in the municipal labor market sector right now, and we need to strengthen our unit with one more counselor.

We are a relatively small unit in a relatively small municipality, which means there are great opportunities to help shape the structure and work processes to best suit the individuals in our target group. The unit consists of a manager, labor market coaches, counselors, and an administrator. You will be one of our three counselors.

In your role as a counselor, you will have daily responsibility for a group of participants. The composition and size of the group may vary depending on the day and the specific intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual support and counseling in daily work tasks and activities.
• Motivate participants and promote involvement and self-confidence.
• Support participants in practical work tasks and skills.
• Be a reliable contact person and source of support during practical exercises or daily activities.
• Support participants in developing routines, social skills, and work-life competencies.
• Plan and conduct group activities.
• Simple documentation in the activity system.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have the ability to see, motivate, and strengthen the people around you. You are motivated by supporting and leading people in their development. Your commitment and positive attitude permeate your counseling.

You have good social and communication skills, are relationship-building, and actively work to maintain good relationships and build trust. You are pedagogical, clear, and able to instruct and counsel individuals in your daily work, adapting to changing circumstances. You enjoy working with people and possess patience and endurance.

You must be able to work independently and take initiative. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, teamwork skills, and the ability to structure, organize, and plan your work. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a focus on social work, social pedagogy, treatment, rehabilitation, or pedagogy.
• Experience from work within support and treatment or educational activities.
• Experience working with individuals who are far from the labor market due to physical and/or mental illness.
• Knowledge of and experience working with individuals with NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorder) diagnoses.

About the Location

Valdemarsvik is an archipelago municipality in southern Östergötland with approximately 7,500 inhabitants. The central town of Valdemarsvik is located right by the Valdemarsvik bay, and it takes only a few minutes from the office to get down to the water. There are good bus connections from Norrköping and Söderköping, and all parking spaces are free.
