About the Operations

The Individual and Family Administration is responsible for measures according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS), covering individual and family care and care for persons with disabilities. Citizens in need of social services can receive advice, support, and assistance. In most cases, our assistance and measures are provided after an individual assessment as part of our authority exercise. We have the ambition that the measures we provide should lead to independence.

The operations focus on interventions for children, young people, and their parents, substance abuse issues, domestic violence, persons with disabilities who need support in their daily lives, persons in need of financial support, labor market measures, rehabilitation, and integration.

The guiding star within the IFO Child and Family area in Nybro Municipality is to offer the children, young people, and families we meet the best possible support. We strive for a goal- and result-oriented operation, and for us, good treatment and meeting current legal requirements are of highest priority. One of the overarching goals within the operations is that children and young people, as far as possible, should be given the opportunity to live and grow up together with their families, or otherwise be reunited with their origins. The orientation of the operations is based on a systemic theoretical foundation with the child's best interests in focus, where we strive to find alternative solutions in close collaboration with families and their networks. However, the operations have an explicit responsibility for support and protection for children and young people who, for a shorter or longer period, need protection and may need to be placed outside the home.

The Foster Care Team is responsible for the care of placed children and support for their birth families and foster families, as well as the recruitment and training of foster families. The team consists of social secretaries/child handlers, family therapists, and foster family recruiters. The team has an organization, routine, and method built to create the best conditions for achieving the goals of care by working with the tripartite parenthood concept. We work in case teams.

Job Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Foster Care Recruiter are to recruit, investigate, and train foster families. We investigate based on establishing a lasting relationship, as the operation's foundation rests on a systemic theoretical basis. The position involves becoming and being a trainer for the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's education, "A Home to Grow In". Work and travel outside office hours may occur. We have access to external supervision.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who are a social worker or who are assessed to have equivalent education that otherwise meets the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's qualification requirements. Experience within the social services' authority exercise regarding children and young people is meritorious, as is good knowledge of current legislation, preferably SoL, LVU, OSL, and FB.

In the role as a recruiter, you need to enjoy working independently and creating contact with external actors, such as businesses and associations, to build networks and contacts that enable the recruitment of new foster families. Therefore, great importance is placed on personal suitability. Recruitment takes place continuously during the recruitment process.
