Medical Secretary for the Neuropsychiatric Clinic, Norrlands University Hospital

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Northern Sweden, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric activities, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

We are currently seeking a Medical Secretary.

About the Role

At the Neuropsychiatric Clinic, we serve patients between the ages of 18 and 60 who are assessed to need psychiatric specialist care. The clinic is a psychiatric outpatient unit that provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with primary neuropsychiatric functional impairment (NPF), primarily ADHD and autism.

Our staff consists of nurses, social workers, care assistants, psychologists, doctors, and medical secretaries. Occupational and physical therapists are also included in the teams as needed. We work in a cross-professional manner where we together coordinate and plan interventions based on the patient's needs.

1 Position

Responsibilities

As a medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable interventions that impact many. The clinic works with the patient in focus, and medical secretaries collaborate closely with other professional groups. You will be part of a team consisting of three medical secretaries, where two work full-time and one works 50%.

The administrative tasks included in the position cover, among other things:

• Dictation and typing
• Handling referrals and waiting lists
• Patient administration (calling patients, scheduling and rescheduling appointments)
• Coding and managing 1177.se
• Mail handling, scheduling, and archiving
• Supply ordering
• Providing service to care colleagues

We work in the medical record system Cosmic and several other IT systems.

Are you also creative, enjoy thinking outside the box, learning new things, and developing your administrative role? Then you are the one we are looking for. We are currently working on a change initiative where we want our medical secretaries to be a natural part of our cross-professional working method. Therefore, we need someone who likes to view work from different perspectives, understands how others think, and is good at solving problems. You must also have an interest in working with and for people.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a warm and generous personality, take responsibility, and enjoy working both independently and in a team. The person we seek needs to be a trained medical secretary and enjoy working in an environment with varied tasks. We would appreciate if you have experience with Cosmic.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. Therefore, we ask that you write your application in Swedish.
