Welcome to Sundsvall Municipality!

Together, we fulfill one of society's most important missions – creating utility and value for residents, businesses, and future generations. Regardless of the department, we work towards the same goal: to make Sundsvall a great place to live, work, and thrive.
We are currently in an exciting phase of development. We are a driving force in digital development and artificial intelligence, and together we are creating smart solutions for the people of Sundsvall today and in the future.
We are facing major transitions to meet citizens' needs in the long term – would you like to be part of this journey?
Your new workplace
Drakfastigheter is Sundsvall Municipality's property management company. We ensure that the municipality's premises offer a pleasant environment for those who use them by shaping and developing our properties in close collaboration with the municipal operations that rent them. All of this is to ensure that Sundsvall Municipality can conduct its operations in efficient, functional, and climate-smart premises.
Drakfastigheter is currently a unit within the Administration for the Municipal Executive Board, with approximately 230 employees. In addition to property management, cleaning, laundry handling, and ongoing maintenance, we are responsible for new construction, renovations, and extensions of municipal premises. Together with the municipal administrations, we work to offer the people of Sundsvall spaces and environments where they can thrive and develop.
Sundsvall Municipality's shared vision, "Together we unleash creative power and build a sustainable Sundsvall with room for everyone," rests on three keywords: courage, openness, and a holistic perspective.
We are now looking for an engaged project manager who wants to contribute to the development of Sundsvall by working towards sustainable and robust property solutions.
How you will contribute in the role of Project Manager
In the role of Project Manager, you will independently lead projects with a focus on quality, operational continuity, and the development of robust properties that can maintain their function even during societal disruptions and crises. During the first few years, your work will primarily be linked to sub-projects within the overarching development program "Robust Properties."
The role combines traditional project management with a specialist area in civil preparedness, security, and robustness in the property portfolio. The work is somewhat more strategic and analytical, where you are responsible for investigating needs, preparing decision-making materials, ordering consulting services, and coordinating various actors to translate requirements and goals into concrete actions.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead and drive projects from planning to implementation and handover.
- Prepare project directives, request for proposals (RFPs), calculations, schedules, and other decision-making materials.
- Be responsible for the procurement of consultants, services, and goods, as well as monitoring deliveries and contracts.
- Coordinate and steer external consultants and specialist competencies.
- Conduct analyses and investigations related to robustness, security, and operational continuity in the municipality's property portfolio.
- Contribute to the development of the municipality's work within civil defense and crisis preparedness, with a focus on premises and socially critical properties.
- Ensure that projects are carried out according to governing documents, legal requirements, and authority requirements.
- Be responsible for project follow-up, documentation, and lessons learned.
- Participate in the development of requirements for framework agreements and conduct environmental scanning in the area.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university or post-secondary education with a focus on building technology, or equivalent work experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
- Documented professional experience in project management within construction projects related to properties.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English in speech and writing.
- Good knowledge of the Office package and experience working in property-related IT environments.
- Valid Category B driver's license.
Meritorious knowledge and experience:
- Previous experience in development, improvement, and/or quality work, project management, continuity management, risk and vulnerability analyses, or security protection work.
- Experience in public operations, the Public Procurement Act (LOU), costing, and procurement/purchasing.
- Education/knowledge in contract law.
As a person, you are self-reliant, proactive, and have a strong drive to move the work forward. You have a solution-oriented attitude and enjoy handling complex issues in a structured and methodical way. You work purposefully and take responsibility for achieving results, while also having good collaboration skills and building trusting relationships with colleagues and partners.
We are looking for someone who is quality-conscious and has good judgment in assessments and prioritizations. You have the ability to see the big picture, analyze complex contexts, and translate needs and requirements into sustainable and long-term solutions. The role requires you to be flexible and able to adapt to changed circumstances, while acting professionally and with high integrity. We place great emphasis on personal suitability!
About the recruitment process
