What we are looking for

We are looking for you who want to develop our operations with the comprehensive development of children and students in focus. As a school counselor, you are visible on the floor where the students are, and you feel equally comfortable meeting the younger students in preschool class as the older ones in year 6. You contribute to a health-promoting environment and enjoy working closely with children, staff, and guardians.

In the promoting and preventive work, you are driving at the group and organizational level. You take your own initiatives for targeted values-based work in the classes and develop the school's routines to meet students' needs early, before any problems grow large.

In the remedial work, you have high investigation competence and act as a dynamic starter and support in, for example, school social, absenteeism, and bullying investigations. You compile and analyze the investigations to reach common conclusions in dialogue with management, but above all, you have the drive to implement broad and targeted interventions when needs arise.

In your role, you work strategically and with competence development together with the school management to raise the educators' ability within the psychosocial field (e.g., conflict management and difficult conversations). As a supporting expert, you make accurate assessments of when you need to go in operationally yourself, and when it is best that you supervise and equip the educators to act themselves.

As a person, you are proactive and own your cases all the way. You secure the process through close, communicative, and systematic feedback to both student, home, as well as staff and management, so that nothing falls between the cracks. You have good analytical skills, use digital tools to get an overview, and have the ability to prioritize your working time efficiently in a lively environment.

We are looking for you who

  • Are a social worker, behavioral scientist, or have another academic degree that we assess as equivalent, and have experience from school and/or social services.
  • Are structured, dynamic, relationship-building, solution-oriented, and independent.
  • Have extensive experience in independently driving and following up on investigation work related to the school counselor's assignment.
  • Have a broad and developmentally adapted toolbox for both remedial and preventive work with children in ages F–6.
  • Feel comfortable supervising, consulting, and supporting staff in, for example, difficult conversations or reports of concern.
  • Have a good ability to create good professional relationships with children, students, guardians, and staff.
