About me:
I am a 78-year-old woman living alone in a spacious apartment on Södermalm. Due to my disability, I need 24/7 assistance. As my assistant, you will help me with meals, dressing, hygiene, and other daily tasks. Transfers are done using a ceiling hoist, but you need to be physically fit as I enjoy going outside as soon as the weather permits. When I go out, I prefer using public transport, and I use a lightweight, easy-to-manage wheelchair.

About you:
Since I often have visits from former colleagues and friends who bring their cats or dogs, you must not have a fur allergy. I also prefer that you are a non-smoker. Standard household chores are included as I appreciate order in my home.
I enjoy reading aloud and solving crosswords, so you must be fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. I am also interested in animals, art, culture, languages, and cooking – it would be great if we shared these interests. The ideal candidate is a mature and alert woman or man aged 40–60, with a sense of humor, responsible, reliable, creative, and resourceful. You must be comfortable using a smartphone, as I frequently use my mobile phone (Android). You are social and can be a good conversational partner.

Leading Assistant:
This personal assistant position includes an extended role as a leading assistant. This means you will design the user's personal assistance in close consultation with the user (or legal representative), in accordance with the LSS Act regarding self-determination, choice, and personal integrity. This is a paid leadership role.
In addition to leading the other assistants, you ensure a safe and secure working environment. You are responsible for scheduling, participate in recruiting new assistants, and handle documentation, etc. You work closely and continuously with the team manager at the office, who is your direct supervisor. You will receive extensive competence training, support, and coaching to succeed in this key position.

The Position:
The position is 50% with varied working hours. Shifts are scheduled during the day, evening, awake night, and weekends on a rotating basis. For those interested, there are good opportunities to work additional shifts. To be employed, you must present a valid ID, a certificate of no criminal record (police extract), and any documents proving your right to work in Sweden.

About Assistans i Balans:
Assistans i Balans provides high-quality personal assistance to individuals with extensive disabilities in accordance with the LSS Act and the Independent Living movement, drawing on long-standing experience. We aim to contribute to a more equal world where everyone, regardless of disability, has the opportunity to live an independent life with self-determination and self-respect at the core. Our service is close, personal, and continuous, with high ambitions. All employees receive thorough induction, ongoing training, engage in our values work, receive wellness benefits, and enjoy security through collective agreements (Fremia – Kommunal).
