The Elderly Care Department in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that empowers and strengthens people's ability to live independent lives, through proximity and interaction.

About Us

The Digital Care and Support Unit is currently responsible for installing digital solutions in homes and supporting individuals in using digital technology. We already have IT technicians working practically with installation, service, and support. As a Coordinator, you will work closely with these technicians and, together with other roles in the team, drive the development of this new branch. The unit is evolving from a technical track to leading, coordinating, and executing digital interventions and solutions for the entire elderly care sector.

Your digitalization team will consist of business developers, project managers, coordinators, and IT technicians. Together, we work both strategically and practically to create solutions that work in everyday life. We believe in technology that creates real value for both citizens and employees, and in collaboration as a key to success.

We are now looking for a temporary Coordinator (Social Worker) to join our team!

You will play a key role in building an innovative, cross-professional operation where care, technology, and collaboration meet to create a better daily life for the elderly. Here, you will become a vital link between the individual's needs and the digital solutions that provide security, independence, and quality of life.

Working hours may vary depending on operational needs and may include work outside of office hours.

Responsibilities

  • Help build our team by implementing and developing processes within the unit.
  • Assess and match digital solutions to the needs and wishes of individuals within care and support.
  • Collaborate with the unit's IT technicians to create functional holistic solutions for individuals.
  • Actively collaborate with other professions and authorities to develop operations and digital interventions.
  • Identify when digital interventions are no longer sufficient and report needs to the benefits caseworker.
  • Meet with individuals in vulnerable situations and provide professional support to individuals and relatives throughout the process.
  • Supervise colleagues performing digital care and act as a change leader during the implementation of new working methods.
  • Perform administration and documentation related to the individual.
  • Help shape routines, working methods, and digital solutions for future care.
  • Work according to routines based on the Social Services Act, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, and administrative law requirements.
  • Coordinate the housing placement process in close collaboration with benefits caseworkers and other actors.
  • Offer available housing places and inform the individual and relatives prior to move-in.
  • Follow up on and document housing placements according to current routines and legislation.
  • Collaborate within the digitalization team and with other professions.
  • Supervise colleagues and participate in development and improvement work.
  • Contribute to innovative solutions and the development of future elderly care.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent higher education.
  • Good knowledge of the Social Services Act, public access and secrecy, and administrative law.
  • Experience in case management and professional interaction with individuals in vulnerable situations.
  • Good digital competence, including the ability to handle relevant systems, digital tools, and platforms independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and drive change in an operation.
  • Strong interest in digital development and innovation within care and support.
  • Good ability to express yourself in writing in Swedish, as the role involves writing clear, structured, and purposeful reports, materials, and documentation.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English.
  • Category B driver's license, as the position involves home visits.

Experience with project management and education in project management, investigation, leadership, and digitalization are considered meritorious.

As a person, you have good social skills and can adapt your communication to the recipient and situation. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Other Information

This is a full-time temporary position, from 2026-09-01 to 2027-12-31.

Animals may be present during home visits, so you should not be allergic.
