About the Role

Do you have several years of experience with internal control within municipal operations and wish to work in a consulting role where you can combine specialist competence with qualified controller work? Then this could be your next step.

As a Controller, you will become part of Serkon's specialist team and work closely with municipal operations to develop management, follow-up, and internal control. Your primary assignment will initially be with one of the company's main clients, where you are expected to take overall responsibility and quickly become independent in your work. The role is therefore suited for you who have good experience with municipal internal control and are confident in leading processes from risk analysis to a completed internal control plan and reporting. The role is varied and involves both strategic and operational work within financial management and business development.

More concretely, the role entails:

• Planning, coordinating, and developing municipal work with internal control.
• Independently conducting risk and materiality analyses.
• Developing, following up, and improving internal control plans.
• Conducting internal control projects and documenting and reporting results.
• Serving as a specialist support to managers and operations regarding internal control and financial management.
• Supporting operations in budgeting, forecasts, annual accounts, and financial follow-up.
• Conducting financial analyses, investigations, and business analyses.
• Working with key figures, state grants, and benchmarking.
• Participating in or leading development and change projects.
• Presenting analyses and decision support materials to management teams, finance managers, and other decision-makers.

About You

We are looking for you who are an experienced controller or economist with specialist competence in internal control. You are accustomed to working independently and have previously been responsible for the entire process, from risk and materiality analysis to planning, implementation, and follow-up of internal control work.

You are communicative, easily build trust, and can adapt your working style to different organizations and customers. You keep your promises, work towards set deadlines, and have a consultative approach where you contribute your competence to improve and streamline operations. Since you will work in a consulting role, you need to enjoy building trust with clients, quickly getting up to speed with operations, and delivering high quality from the start.

The following are requirements for the position:

• Academic degree in economics or other relevant higher education.
• Several years of experience in qualified controller or accounting work within municipal operations.
• Documented experience of independent work with internal control in municipal operations.
• Good knowledge of the Local Government Act, the Act on Municipal Accounting and Reporting (LKBR), and sound economic management.
• Experience with risk and materiality analyses as well as the creation of internal control plans.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, annual accounts, and financial follow-up.
• Very good ability to express yourself professionally in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).
