Gothenburg Port is Scandinavia's largest port and is visited by some of the world's largest vessels. For over 400 years, we have been the logistics hub in Sweden's international trade and are the obvious gateway to the world for Swedish imports and exports. Approximately 180 people currently work at the municipally owned company.

Do you want to work with energy systems in one of Sweden's most complex and societally critical environments? Gothenburg Port is undergoing extensive development of our electrical facilities, and now you have the opportunity to influence facilities that are crucial for the port's function and development.

To the department Infrastructure and the unit Asset Management Energy, we are now looking for an additional Electrical Engineer.

Job Description

We are in an expansion phase with major investments in electrical facilities, primarily related to the expansion of OPS (Onshore Power Supply). The role is central to ensuring technical function, development, and compliance with regulations. In this position, you will build deep knowledge of the facilities and serve as a technical expert in both projects and asset management.

You will also work with:

  • contributing technical expertise in electrical facilities, high voltage, and OPS
  • serving as the client representative and ensuring functionality in new and existing facilities
  • supporting project activities with technical competence in a comprehensive project portfolio
  • being responsible for or driving operational issues and ensuring facility functionality
  • ordering and following up on supervision and maintenance, service interventions, statutory functional tests, and self-control measures
  • participating in the development and updating of instructions, relationship documents, as well as operation and maintenance routines
  • being involved in establishing working methods and routines, particularly related to OPS as a new technical area
  • leading and directing technical work in facilities, including:
    • coordination of external resources
    • occupational health and safety measures (e.g., switching permits)

The role is also important for strengthening the management of our electrical facilities and ensuring that we meet the current requirements from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with an education in electricity, power systems, or energy systems, for example, a university or civil engineering degree. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent competence through several years of professional experience in the field that the employer deems equivalent.

For the role, we are looking for you:

  • with experience of practical work on high-voltage facilities, for example, with switchgear and relay protection
  • who communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
  • who holds a B driving license

Furthermore, you must have good ability to plan, structure, and coordinate several parallel work tasks. The role demands independence combined with good collaboration skills, as you work in close cooperation with both internal and external actors. You have a strong safety mindset because the role places high demands on safety awareness and working structured based on current regulations. To succeed in the role, we see that you take responsibility for driving your work forward, while contributing to good cooperation and a functioning teamwork.

It is meritorious if you have additional education in high voltage, have previous experience of working in or towards operation and asset management organizations, project management, and procurement within power systems or related technical areas. It is also meritorious if you have authorization A or AL from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority.

Why Gothenburg Port AB?

We are a stable and secure employer with an important societal role. Here, you will work close to competent and engaged colleagues and be part of a team where collaboration and development are in focus. In this role, you will become part of a smaller specialist team where competencies complement each other and where knowledge exchange is a natural part of the work. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a business that has great significance for Sweden's trade and future development.

We warmly welcome you to our team!
