RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social secretary at the reception unit, you are often the first point of contact between social services and children, young people, and their families. The role involves receiving and assessing incoming reports of concern and applications, conducting preliminary assessments, and initiating investigations when necessary.

The role also includes close collaboration with schools, preschools, police, healthcare, and other actors to ensure that children and young people receive the right support at the right time.

The work takes place in an operation that is actively developing in line with the new Social Services Act, with a focus on early, preventive, and promoting measures.

Backa Barnet – Collaboration for the child's best interest

Degerfors Municipality works according to the Backa Barnet model, which aims to strengthen collaboration between different operations regarding children and young people. Through shared responsibility between, for example, social services, schools, police, and civil society, better conditions are created to identify needs early and intervene before problems grow.

As a social secretary at the reception, you are an important part of this work by contributing to early detection, collaboration, and appropriate support measures for children and families.

In the role, you will among other things work with:

  • Receiving and processing incoming reports of concern and applications
  • Conducting preliminary assessments according to the Social Services Act
  • Initiating and starting investigations when needed
  • Providing advice and support to children, young people, and guardians
  • Collaborating with open care, schools, police, healthcare, and other actors
  • Contributing to the development of preventive and early interventions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Social work degree (Social worker)
  • Knowledge of the Social Services Act and work with children and young people
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build trust
  • Thrives in collaboration and teamwork
  • Structured and confident in professional assessment
  • Desire to help shape the future work of the reception unit

Experience in authority decision-making regarding children and young people is an advantage.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-10.
Working hours: Daytime.
