WORK TASKS

As a social worker within Child and Youth Services, you will work with investigations and follow-ups in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Special Provisions on the Care of Young Persons (LVU). You are responsible for investigating children's need for protection and support, as well as following up on decided interventions.

The role involves close contact with children, young people, and their families, as well as collaboration with other key actors such as schools, preschools, healthcare, and the police.

You will become part of a dedicated team where we work together to ensure legally secure assessments and high-quality support interventions.

Backa Barnet and the development of social services

Degerfors Municipality works according to the collaboration model "Backa Barnet," where social services, schools, police, and other actors collaborate to strengthen the work regarding children and young people.

Through this approach, we create better opportunities to identify needs early and provide the right support at the right time. At the same time, we are developing social services in line with the new Social Services Act, with a focus on accessibility, preventive work, and early interventions.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Conduct child welfare investigations according to SoL and LVU
• Assess children's needs for protection and support
• Make decisions or prepare cases for decision-making
• Follow up on decided interventions
• Collaborate with schools, police, healthcare, and other authorities
• Document and ensure legally secure case handling

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

• A degree in Social Work (Social Work degree)
• Experience in public administration within Child and Youth Services, or a strong interest in the field
• Good ability to make structured assessments
• Confidence in meetings with children, young people, and families
• Good collaboration skills and thrive in teamwork

Salary: Monthly salary.
