The South-East Jämtland Pastorate consists of 16 parishes in the municipalities of Bergs, Östersund, Bräcke, and Ragunda. The staff of the pastorate work where the present meets history; from the ski resort of Klövsjö, the gold medal village of cross-country skiing Åsarna, the Torvalla district in Östersund, to the area where the "Wild Men" once created the Döda Fallet waterfall.

We are now looking for a Vicar with a workplace in Hammarstrand.

Hammarstrand is a community located in a beautiful natural setting with dramatically beautiful nature in the eastern part of the South-East Jämtland Pastorate in Ragunda Municipality, at a perfect distance between the coast and the mountains. The Indalsälven river winds through the countryside where, as a priest, you will work close to both people and nature. It is a rural area where all stages of life are still met in the church – where tradition, warmth, and engagement drive the work forward.

As a Vicar with us, you will become an integral part of parishes with strong community spirit and great trust in the countryside. Here there is room for personal meetings, for conversations that take time, and for worship where presence and participation are central.

As a Vicar with us, you will be an important part of the work to develop and strengthen the community in our parishes. The job includes traditional priest duties such as services, church ceremonies, confirmation, and youth activities. It is a requirement that you are ordained in the Church of Sweden and have a B-driver's license and access to your own car.

We are actively working to develop the three pilgrimage routes that run through the parishes in the pastorate, of which the Indalsleden route goes through our area. For those interested in pilgrimage, there are good opportunities to develop this concept in this priestly position.

To succeed in the role, we see that you are secure in your self-image, in your mission, and in your faith/worldview. You understand, care for, and appreciate smaller contexts. We assume that you are curious and have a desire to meet people in different life situations, that you are creative and take initiative, and that you are receptive to your colleagues.

We are looking for someone who creates and maintains good relationships, who can organize and set boundaries both for yourself and in the operations. We also see that you are engaged in the confirmation working group, which is a pastorate-wide working group.

The South-East Jämtland Pastorate is relatively new and was formed in January 2022. With us, you have the opportunity to build relationships and follow the parishioners through life. You will become an important part of the work to develop and strengthen the community in the parishes.
