We celebrate successes, share knowledge, and rejoice in each other’s development. Energikontor Norr is certified as a Great Place to Work and has high employee satisfaction.

About the Energy Engineer role

As an Energy Engineer with us, you will work on current and socially important energy issues in close collaboration with municipalities, companies, public actors, and other partners. You will contribute to our projects by providing research, analysis, technical knowledge, and data that support energy efficiency, sustainable transition, and a more robust energy system in Norrbotten.

You will work alongside senior colleagues and have the opportunity to develop broadly within the energy field, gaining valuable experience in project work and EU-funded development projects. For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to grow into more project leadership roles over time.

We are looking for someone who has recently graduated from university or college, or has a few years of experience, and who has a strong interest in energy, technology, and societal development.

Examples of tasks

  • Contribute technical knowledge and analysis to our energy and climate projects.
  • Conduct research, environmental scanning, analyses, and summaries within the energy sector.
  • Prepare background materials, reports, presentations, and decision support for projects, municipalities, companies, and other actors.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars together with colleagues and external partners.
  • Over time, and depending on interest, take greater responsibility in projects and project management.

We are looking for someone who has

  • Relevant higher education or university degree in areas such as energy technology, mechanical engineering with an energy focus, electrical power, sustainable energy systems, or similar.
  • A strong interest in energy issues, energy efficiency, and energy transition.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp new technical areas.
  • Ability to compile information, draw conclusions, and present results clearly.
  • Good communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating with both colleagues and external actors.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Curiosity about how AI tools and digital working methods can be used for analysis, research, and more efficient project work.
  • A positive, non-hierarchical, and solution-oriented attitude.

It is an advantage if you have

  • Knowledge of Norrbotten’s energy system, municipalities’ energy challenges, or industry transition.
  • Experience as a project manager or having taken courses in project management.
  • Experience from project work, thesis work, internship, or summer jobs within the energy sector.
  • Familiarity with the public sector, EU projects, or externally funded projects.
  • Experience in giving presentations, conducting workshops, or producing reports and decision support materials.

We offer

  • Developing work with exciting projects in the attractive energy sector in Norrbotten and Europe, where we work for a sustainable future.
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work.
  • Wellness allowance, wellness hour, and joint wellness activities.
  • Active well-being work, joint activities, social interaction, and a good working environment in pleasant premises.
  • A workplace with strong team spirit, short decision-making paths, and great opportunities for development.

Tip!

We are also looking for hourly-paid students who want to work extra alongside their studies. We are looking for you who are in your final year of study in energy technology, mechanical engineering, or another education with an energy focus.

Apply now! Selection is ongoing with the aim of filling the position as soon as possible. The application deadline is August 5, 2026.

Questions can be directed to: Office Manager Fredrik Carlsson.
