We are growing and are now looking for a Group Manager for a newly established position, a role where you will help develop employees, research, and new industry-oriented initiatives. The business area operates within environment, energy, and metallurgy, focusing on the development of metallurgical processes in close collaboration with industry, with clear industrial benefits as the goal. We are expanding with a research group in metallurgy, with a focus area that complements our current organization.
About the role
As Group Manager at Swerim, you will play a key role in developing research, business, and employees. You will lead a team of researchers and experts and drive industry-oriented projects within environment, energy, and metallurgy. The role will also become important as the area expands towards hydrometallurgy and batteries.
You will work in a collaborative environment together with companies, public actors, universities, and colleges. The group consists of 10-12 researchers and experts with access to well-equipped pilot halls and close support from technicians. You report to the Business Area Manager for Metallurgy and collaborate with other group managers to develop operations, business, and future initiatives.
We are looking for a leader with a background in research and development, preferably from industry or the institute world. You are also active in initiating, generating, and executing research projects where your scientific background and industrial network become valuable assets.
Who are you?
You are an experienced and curious leader with senior competence in an area relevant to the role. You thrive at the intersection of research, industry, and business and are motivated by turning knowledge into concrete benefits for customers and society. Having a research background and experience in initiating, generating, and driving research projects is advantageous.
As a leader, you are unpretentious, communicative, and engaged. You build trust, create relationships, and help people grow through clear direction, participation, and collaboration. You are driven by strategic work and business development and by creating results together with colleagues that contribute to a sustainable industry. Experience in personnel and working environment responsibility is an advantage, but most important is your willingness and ability to lead and develop the group.
At Swerim, we see diversity as a strength. Our core values – collaboration, engagement, curiosity, and integrity – shape how we work and develop together. Here, you will have great opportunities to grow in assignments that contribute to the sustainable industry of the future.
The position is a permanent employment based in Luleå. Travel, both national and international, is included in the role.
We welcome your application!
