Do you want to work with an important societal task and contribute to strengthening legal security for individuals who cannot protect their own interests? As a Public Guardianship Case Officer, you will play a central role in ensuring legal security and quality within the public guardianship operations.

The Government wants the support for people in need of a representative, i.e., a guardian or administrator, to become more reliable. The Riksdag has therefore adopted new legislation where several legislative changes came into force on July 1, 2026. This means that the Public Guardianship Authority is in an exciting time with new challenges, routines, and ways of working.

We are now looking for a Public Guardianship Case Officer for the Public Guardianship Office in Järfälla who wants to be part of this exciting journey. The Public Guardianship Office belongs to the administrative unit of the Municipal Executive Office but is an independent unit consisting of a unit manager, seven case officers, an administrative case officer, and an administrator. The unit works for both Järfälla and Upplands-Bro municipalities, which each have their own politically elected public guardians, but share a common office.

Responsibilities

The assignment includes exercising supervision over guardians, administrators, and curators, as well as processing cases according to current legislation. The work involves public authority duties and includes, among other things:

Processing cases regarding guardianship, administration, and curatorship
Reviewing accounting documents
Investigations and statements to court
Decisions on permission matters
Recruitment and support for guardians and administrators
Participation in development and improvement work within the operations

The work is both independent and collaborative, where you have close contact with colleagues, representatives, authorities, and other actors.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant university education, for example in law, legal science, public administration, or economics. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Experience in case processing and decision-making within municipal or state operations is meritorious, as is previous work within the public guardianship area.

To succeed in the role, you need to be careful, structured, and have good analytical skills. You are confident in making decisions and can handle a varied workflow with both independence and collaboration. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, where qualities such as responsibility, service orientation, and good teamwork skills are important.
