What we do and want

Meal Service is an organization within Tyresö Municipality, encompassing all kitchens in municipal preschools, schools, and upper secondary schools. We work together to develop public meals, and our vision is: "We create joy in food for healthier young and old, and we are part of the solution for sustainable development."

About the position

We are now looking for a Head Chef to lead one of our largest school kitchens, serving approximately 700 students from preschool class up to grade 9.

We give you great creative freedom to create menus for the school's students and educators together with your team. The majority of the work is carried out in the kitchen, but it also involves administrative tasks, meetings with educators, students, parents, and colleagues.

Most of the food is cooked from scratch in the kitchen. We strive to make every guest look forward to our meals while having high ambitions regarding sustainable food. This means we buy organic food, work to reduce food waste and our carbon footprint, and are KRAV certified.

Who are you?

You must have documented training as a chef and have worked in the profession for at least 5 years, preferably in a leadership role. You have thorough knowledge of handling and preparing special diets.

Cooking is a passion for you, and striving to give our guests a world-class dining experience is second nature to you. You are a team player who is stress-resistant and has good communication skills. You have excellent leadership qualities and see the connection between good leadership and successful results. You contribute to creating a good psychosocial work environment and help create a place for you and your team to develop.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To handle the assignment, you also need good computer skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

Apply now

We warmly welcome your application by August 9, 2026. We will begin interviews in August.
