Do you want to work at the forefront of urological care – in a team where competence, job satisfaction, and development go hand in hand? With us, you have the opportunity to make a real difference for our patients while developing in a secure and supportive environment.
What We Offer
The Urology Clinic in Östergötland is part of the Center for Surgery, Orthopedics and Cancer Care (CKOC) and provides specialized and highly specialized urological care for both our own region and the South-Eastern Healthcare Region – an area with approximately one million inhabitants.
The clinic is county-wide and has over 100 employees working together at Vrinnevi Hospital in Norrköping and the University Hospital in Linköping. The operations include a care ward at the University Hospital and outpatient clinics at both locations. Our shared vision is to provide high-quality care in an environment that promotes both development and job satisfaction.
At the urology outpatient clinic at Vrinnevi Hospital in Norrköping, we are a tight-knit team of approximately 35 employees. Here, we run a broad outpatient service together with a kidney stone unit and a urodynamic investigation unit. We work closely together in teams and meet patients at all stages of the care chain – from investigation and treatment to follow-up. The operations include visits from doctors, urotherapists, nurses, and nursing assistants, where we perform a wide range of examinations and minor procedures. At the kidney stone unit, we perform, among other things, ESWL treatments and laser operations for kidney and ureter stones. Within the nursing and nursing assistant clinics, we work with tasks such as catheter changes, cystoscopy examinations, minor surgical procedures, and follow-up of prostate cancer patients.
With us, you are offered a workplace with broad competence, varied tasks, and a strong sense of cohesion.
We actively work to create good conditions for learning and development, and see competence development as a natural part of the work. There is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge through courses in urology based on both the needs of the operations and your own interests. With us, you become part of a small but stable team where we value each other, our patients, and a positive work climate.
Please read about our career ladder for nurses and your benefits with us. Here you will also find information regarding regulations concerning salaries and allowances.
Job Description
The work at the clinic is varied and developing, and suits you who enjoy taking personal responsibility. As a nurse, you have a central role where you both plan and conduct your own outpatient visits and work as a contact nurse for patients within our various diagnostic areas, such as prostate, bladder diseases, as well as kidney, penile, and testicular cancer.
Your daily work also includes counseling and follow-up via TeleQ, as well as assisting at doctor's clinics. You become an important part of a team where nurses, nursing assistants, care administrators, and doctors collaborate closely to create the best possible care for the patients.
The position also includes rotation to our kidney stone unit, where work is carried out in a team together with doctors and care administrators. Here, both shock wave treatments (ESWL) and laser operations for kidney and ureter stones are performed. In your role as a nurse, you are responsible for preparing and setting up instruments before procedures, assisting during treatments, and ensuring post-procedure work and instrument handling.
The Team
At the clinic, you will meet an engaged and warm team that is now looking forward to welcoming new nursing colleagues. We place great importance on you feeling secure and welcome from the start, and therefore we adapt your introduction to your experience and needs. You will get your own mentor for support during the introduction, where you will gradually get to experience all parts of the operations together with your colleagues.
About You
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and who preferably have experience of outpatient work, for example from a health center or similar operations. Experience of urological, surgical, or day surgery care is considered meritorious, as is further education in urological nursing or incontinence. It is also an advantage if you have previously worked in the medical record system Cosmic and with TeleQ. You have good knowledge of Swedish and feel confident communicating with patients, relatives, and colleagues both verbally and in writing.
As a person, you are calm, stable, and have the ability to handle changes in a constructive way.
You thrive in collaboration with others, but at the same time have the ability to independently plan, structure, and drive your work forward.
We believe that you are engaged in your professional role and see the value in contributing to good teamwork. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and have a genuine interest in helping others. You take responsibility for your part in the work and support your colleagues when needed, with the goal of creating an operation where the patient is always in focus. Thoroughness and quality awareness are a natural part of your way of working. We place great importance on personal suitability.
