Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees interact with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools across the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals based on their own prerequisites. Your new workplace

Do you want to make a real difference for students' learning and development? We are looking for an engaged and competent special needs teacher with a focus on mathematics who wants to contribute to creating the best conditions for our students' knowledge development. Bergsåker School is a K-9 school with just over 850 students in western Sundsvall. The school is divided into a smaller section for younger students and a larger one for older students. The school has three profile areas: knowledge, culture, and sports. In addition to a good study environment and good academic results, the school offers various cultural events such as orchestra tours and a large autumn/Christmas show, as well as many outstanding athletic achievements and outdoor activities on the schedule for students who choose them. How you contribute in the role of special needs teacher

As a special needs teacher in mathematics, you work closely with students, teachers, student health services, and school leadership to develop an inclusive and accessible learning environment. You are responsible for identifying students' needs for special support, planning and implementing targeted special pedagogical interventions, and following up and evaluating their effect. The work includes both teaching individual students or small groups and mentoring educators regarding adaptations, teaching strategies, and mathematics development.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and follow up on special needs teacher interventions in mathematics.
• Map students' knowledge and analyze support needs.
• Establish, implement, and follow up on interventions in collaboration with teaching teachers.
• Mentor and support teachers in working with extra adaptations and special support.
• Actively participate in the student health service's work and the school's systematic quality work.
• Contribute to the development of the school's mathematics teaching and accessible learning environments.
• Collaborate with guardians and external actors as needed.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed teacher with a special needs teacher degree with a focus on mathematics, or has other education that the employer considers equivalent.
• Has good knowledge of steering documents, assessment, and special support.
• Has experience in teaching mathematics and working with students in need of special support.
• Has a good ability to analyze students' learning and translate analysis into practical interventions.
• Is well acquainted with digital tools as support in teaching and documentation.

Salary: Individual and differentiated salary setting is applied.

Terms: Salary supplements beyond the monthly salary follow the applicable collective agreement. Central collective agreements can be found on the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' website, www.skr.se
