Do you want to help create a safe, active, and meaningful daily life for people with intellectual disabilities and autism? Do you have education and experience within care and support, and thrive in a role where you take responsibility, collaborate, and contribute your own ideas? Then you might be the one we are looking for.
What we offer you
With us, you will have a meaningful and varied job where you make a difference every day. You will become part of a work group that works together to create a safe, active, and content-rich daily life for the residents. We value engagement, collaboration, and initiative, and offer a workplace where you have the opportunity to influence and develop.
About us
The group homes at Skvaltagatan and Baldervägen serve adults with intellectual disabilities and autism who have extensive needs for support and care. The group homes are located in a quiet residential area with good bus connections to Upplands Väsby station.
Our goal is that every resident should have the opportunity for participation, self-determination, and a meaningful daily life based on their own conditions.
About the position
We are looking for two to three support assistants for permanent full-time positions. Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, and every other weekend. Shift lengths vary between 5 and 13 hours. As a support assistant, you support, motivate, and guide the residents based on their individual needs, wishes, and implementation plans. The work is carried out in close collaboration with support pedagogues, colleagues, relatives, and healthcare personnel. Your tasks include, among other things:
- providing pedagogical support in daily life and strengthening the users' participation and independence
- planning and carrying out activities, social gatherings, and excursions
- providing support with personal care and transfers
- performing household chores together with the residents
- documenting according to current legislation and performing delegated health and medical care tasks.
We work from a salutogenic approach and low-affective handling, where the individual's resources, participation, and self-determination are in focus.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for you who have:
- education as a nursing assistant or other care and support education that the employer deems equivalent
- experience working within care and support, preferably within LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Disabilities)
- knowledge of disabilities and a pedagogical working method
- good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
- good computer skills and experience with documentation
You have an active working style and take initiative. You see what needs to be done, contribute energy and engagement, and want to help create a lively, safe, and content-rich daily life for the residents. You motivate activity and participation and see possibilities rather than obstacles. With a positive and solution-focused approach, you contribute to both the users' quality of life and a good working environment.
It is meritorious if you have a great interest in digital working methods and are a confident user of various operational systems. You see the value of digital tools and are happy to share your knowledge with the work group.
We also appreciate that you have a strong commitment to health-promoting work and are motivated by creating an active and content-rich daily life for the users through physical activity, social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and good living habits.
As a person, you are stable and collaborative. We also see that you are solution-oriented to fit the role.
At the Social and Care Office, we work with everything from adoption issues to end-of-life care. Our operations and organizational culture are shaped by our values regarding participation, competence, trust, and respect. This is the foundation of our work and an approach towards each other and those we serve.
We warmly welcome your application!
We only receive applications through our recruitment system. Background checks may occur during the recruitment process.
