About the Workplace
Fribergaskolan is a 7-9 grade school with approximately 500 students and 65 staff members, located centrally in Danderyd near Mörby Centrum. The operations function well with very good results and many fine traditions. The school is very popular and has ambitious, pleasant students with engaged parents who provide us with good support in our work. We have highly competent and engaged staff, as well as good support resources in the form of a well-developed student health service and a permanent substitute.
We offer a nice working environment in our premises where we have invested heavily in a bright and open learning environment with fresh furniture and technical aids that make creative teaching possible.
We are organized into work teams, but sit in subject-specific workrooms where there is an open and cooperative climate.

Job Responsibilities
As a school counselor with us, you work with psychosocial interventions primarily through preventive and health-promoting work. The work takes place at the organizational, group, and individual levels and in close collaboration with colleagues in the student health team, other relevant employees, and guardians. You are the schools' expert in social legislation and study-social issues and collaborate with other authorities within the municipality, such as social services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), and Ungt Fokus (field assistants).
Your responsibilities include:
- Working to promote and prevent by actively participating in various contexts during the student's school day.
- Social investigation and mapping work.
- Conversations with students, individually and in groups.
- Crisis and conflict management.
- Mentoring and supporting educators in questions regarding students' social situations.
- Supporting colleagues in preparation for difficult conversations and contacts with guardians.
- Collaborating during transitions between different grades and schools.
- Leading systematic quality work regarding safety and well-being.
This is a temporary position during the autumn of 2026 (with the possibility of extension). The position is a holding appointment at 80%.
Qualifications and Merits
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree in Social Work (Social Work).
- Previous work experience as a school counselor.
- Digital competence for documentation and other administrative tasks.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have experience in preventive work against bullying and further education in supervision, CBT, or similar.
You have an easy time building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You often take the initiative for social contact and adapt your message to the target group. You are a very good listener who easily puts yourself in others' situations and understands their perspectives. You are stable and maintain a professional attitude in stressful situations. You have very good collaboration skills with both internal and external contacts with the student in focus. Your work is based on the operations' needs and goals.
You have the ability to actively contribute to the student health team's engagement, professionalism, and focus on finding strength in what actually works really well and that we should be proud of, without losing sight of what we need to follow up and can continue to develop. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

Employment Terms
- Salary: Monthly salary.
- Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
- Duration: 3-6 months, start: Temporary position autumn semester 2026 with possible extension. Start date by agreement.
