Why this job is for you

Do you want to contribute to a safer society and a more secure world by strengthening the quality of products and systems that truly matter? Here, you will work with quality assurance in the defense industry, where robust solutions, reliable deliveries, and high demands are crucial for both customers, users, and society.

You work closely with product development, delivery projects, supply chains, and customers to ensure quality throughout the entire chain – from bidding and development to production, delivery, and follow-up.

This role suits you if you are technically curious, structured, and confident in quality work. You create clarity in complex environments and drive improvements together with project teams and cross-functional teams.

You work operationally and as an advisor in qualified assignments for defense customers across Sweden. The role is based at our office in Uppsala, where we build delivery capacity in the area, while the role may also involve significant travel to customers and projects in other locations. Assignments may cover project quality, supplier quality, technical quality assurance, or a combination of these areas, often in safety-critical and regulated technical environments.

You will become part of our business area Compliance & Management, where we support an efficient transition to digital, sustainable, and secure solutions through expert knowledge in areas such as quality, security, sustainability, and project management.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Manager within defense, you might work on:

  • Planning and monitoring quality assurance in projects, bids, and supplier flows.
  • Developing and reviewing quality, configuration, and supplier plans.
  • Interpreting customer, technical, and standard requirements into quality-assuring activities.
  • Conducting audits and assessing suppliers' quality, capacity, and risk.
  • Driving risk analyses, deviations, root causes, and actions according to methods such as 8D/RCCA.
  • Reviewing technical deliverables, design changes, and delivery documentation.
  • Monitoring quality outcomes, key performance indicators (KPIs), risks, and status against projects and customers.
  • Developing working methods within quality, engineering, purchasing, and supplier development.

Assignments may involve project quality in large defense projects, quality assurance in product development, supplier quality, audits, problem analysis, and long-term improvement work.

Qualifications

You are self-reliant, communicative, and analytical with strong drive and good structure. You thrive in project environments and build trust in collaborations with technical specialists, project managers, purchasing, production, customers, and suppliers.

You can explain quality requirements, risks, deviations, and actions in an understandable way. You see the big picture without losing sight of the details and make quality a practical support for delivery, improvement, and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in quality work in product development, technical, or project-driven environments. We prefer that you have:

  • A technical university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in quality management, project quality, supplier quality, or a related quality role.
  • Experience from the defense sector primarily, but experience from vehicles or other complex technical industries is also valuable.
  • Good understanding of development, production, purchasing, projects, and supply chains.
  • Practical experience in requirement management, quality planning, audits, deviation management, and improvement work.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and standards, especially ISO 9001.
  • Very good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Merits:

  • ISO 9001 audits, preferably also ISO 14001, as well as supplier audits and supplier development.
  • APQP, PPAP, FAI, 8D, RCCA, LFE, root cause analysis, or other structured quality methods.
  • Configuration management, engineering change management, or review of design changes.
  • Work in safety-critical or regulated environments, as well as customer-facing quality work in large technical projects.
  • Experience working with SAP.

What you get from us:

  • Challenging assignments with leading companies in defense, industry, and critical infrastructure.
  • Opportunity to work with quality throughout the entire chain – from project start to delivery.
  • A strong network of experts and great opportunities to develop within Compliance & Management.
  • A culture characterized by responsibility, curiosity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
