Academic Resource is currently looking for a Laboratory Engineer / QC Lab Engineer for a Life Science company in Uppsala. This is an initial 6-month consultancy assignment with the possibility of extension.
Location: Uppsala (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-time
Start Date: September 1st
Department and Team Description:
The Quality Control (QC) department plays a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality products reach customers and contribute to better health worldwide. Your team is responsible for analytical testing and quality control, directly impacting product quality, regulatory compliance, and reliable release processes.
You will become part of a competent and collaborative laboratory environment where we work with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques, including HPLC, LC-MS, ÄKTA instruments, microscopy, and spectrophotometry. Attention to detail, teamwork, and continuous improvement are central to our daily work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical testing according to approved instructions and established quality standards.
- Report, review, and approve analysis results for products and ordered analyses, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the process.
- Initiate and investigate Out of Specification (OOS) results and other deviations, contributing to continuous improvement and robust quality processes.
- Perform controls, calibrations, and maintenance of analytical instruments to ensure reliable and efficient laboratory operations.
- Update and approve work instructions, including control methods, standard methods, and calibration methods, to ensure clear and correct working procedures.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Biotechnology or Chemistry, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Experience working with ÄKTA, HPLC, FPLC, and LC-MS instruments.
- Knowledge of electrophoresis.
- Fluent Swedish and basic English skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry.
- Fluent English.
- Experience with Oracle and LIMS.
