About the position

The library is part of the Culture Unit, which includes libraries, open youth activities, cultural venues, cultural events, and activities in cultural heritage settings. Your role involves promoting reading, primarily targeting young children, educators, and parents. You will be responsible for purchasing media for the children's department, leading storytimes, holiday activities, and cultural events for younger children. The role requires close collaboration within the Culture Unit, as well as contact and cooperation with the Family Center, preschools, and primary schools.

Tidaholm City Library is part of Bibliotek Mellansjö, a collaboration between eight municipalities around a shared library system with a common catalog and media flow.

We are a small library, which allows for flexibility in our work. You will become an important cog in our team to ensure the whole functions smoothly. The position includes staffing the library's opening hours.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a university degree in Library and Information Science. Experience working with children is advantageous, as is a genuine interest in children's literature. You will collaborate extensively with others but must also be able to work independently.

As a person, you are service-oriented, build good relationships, and find it easy to cooperate with people at all levels. You are positive, empathetic, solution-oriented, and have the ability to build effective networks both within and outside the organization. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Application and employment

The position is a full-time temporary contract until 2027-03-31, with a start date to be agreed upon. Your workplace will be at the library. The role includes information sessions as well as evening and weekend shifts.
