Qualified Preschool Teacher for Preschool and Family Center in Åre

About the Role and Workplace

Our preschool, Storsjöodjuret, is located with a view over Lake Storsjön in Hallen. Hallen is located between Åre and Östersund. Across the ice road/by car ferry, it is 4 miles to Östersund and 6 miles to Åre. The preschool has two departments. The Family Center is located in Järpen, where operations are conducted 1–2 days a week.

The position offers a unique opportunity to combine the pedagogical mission at the preschool with promoting and preventive work together with children and families. Responsibilities

Preschool (50%)

• Plan, implement, document, and evaluate education based on the curriculum.
• Be responsible for teaching together with the work team.
• Create a safe, developmental, and inspiring learning environment for the children.
• Collaborate with guardians and colleagues to promote children's development and learning.

Family Center (50%)

• Participate in the family center's open activities for children and parents.
• Plan and implement activities that stimulate children's development and learning.
• Contribute to creating meeting places that promote participation, security, and community.
• Collaborate with the various professions and actors at the family center to provide support to children and families.

Qualifications and Merits

Requirements:

• Qualified preschool teacher with eligibility to teach in preschool.
• Good knowledge of the preschool curriculum and the pedagogical mission.
• Good ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues.
• Good communicative skills in Swedish, both oral and written.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience working in a family center, open preschool, or similar operations.
• Experience collaborating with various professions regarding children and families.
• Knowledge of early interventions and preventive work.

Employment Conditions

Employment Type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-01 or as agreed.

The position is vacant subject to no surplus, need for reassignment, or priority rights existing in the municipality. Probationary employment may be applied. We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. The employment is covered by the current collective agreement for municipalities and regions.
