Fortification Agency is looking for an Operations Technician for the Operations Unit in Karlskrona
Do you want to work in a technically complex and socially significant environment where your skills make a real difference? As an Operations Technician at the Naval Base in Karlskrona, you will have a varied role with responsibility for the operation and maintenance of buildings and port facilities, which are an important part of Sweden's defense capability. Together with dedicated colleagues, you contribute to a safe, stable, and reliable operation.
The Operations Unit is responsible for the management and technical operation of the Naval Base's building stock in Karlskrona. The operations cover a large number of buildings of varying ages and technical standards, where a significant portion is security-classified and SBM-marked. This places high demands on working methods, planning, and the execution of operational and maintenance measures.
The buildings consist largely of older installations where modern technology has been integrated over time. This creates a complex operational environment with both older and new technical systems, requiring broad technical competence and good system understanding in areas such as electricity, HVAC, and control and regulation technology.
In addition to building operations, the unit is also responsible for the operation and management of port facilities. The port is undergoing extensive renovation and development work where new technical systems are gradually put into operation and integrated into the business. This entails continuous work with receiving, commissioning, and integrating new technology in parallel with ongoing operations.
The organization consists of approximately 20 employees and is responsible for ensuring stable, safe, and functional operation of buildings and port infrastructure. The work is characterized by high demands on availability, operational reliability, and compliance with safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities
The role of Operations Technician involves monitoring and maintaining technical systems within both buildings and port facilities. You are responsible for monitoring system status and ensuring a stable and reliable building/facility.
In the event of operational disruptions and faults, you work with troubleshooting and measures to minimize interruptions and disturbances. The work is carried out in collaboration with colleagues and other professional groups with specialist competence in areas such as electricity, HVAC, and other technical fields.
You also work with planned maintenance to some extent, where regular inspections and preventive measures are important for a long-term reliable facility.
In addition to daily operational work, planned service and maintenance measures are included, as well as participation in the optimization of technical systems. This may involve adjustments to increase operational reliability, efficiency, and reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.
An important part of the role is documentation, where completed work and deviations are registered according to current procedures in the organization's systems. The position includes daily customer and supplier contacts. On-call duty may be included in the employment.
Qualifications
At least upper secondary education or equivalent experience in technology, operations, or maintenance. Experience from operation, supervision, and maintenance of buildings or technical facilities. Experience with troubleshooting in operations, buildings, or technical systems. Experience in control and regulation technology or electricity. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. A B-class driver's license is required.
It is an advantage to have good knowledge of administrative IT support systems or equivalent operation/case management systems.
Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we place great emphasis on personal suitability. You are creative and contribute to developing and optimizing technical systems. You are solution-oriented and enjoy troubleshooting and resolving operational disruptions together with colleagues with different specialist competencies. You work in a structured and methodical manner and maintain focus even when many things are happening at once.
What do we offer you?
Together with approximately 1,500 colleagues at the Fortification Agency across the country, you work with a unique building stock to strengthen the total defense of Sweden. We are proud of the socially significant mission we have, where by owning, developing, and managing buildings for the total defense, we contribute to a safe and free Sweden. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require competence. We work based on the state's values and strive for gender balance. Equal rights and opportunities are important to us.
